After beating the game, you will unlock a final "Apocalyptic" difficulty. You can restart the game (replay all missions) in this difficulty (or the one above yours) without losing your progression.
For people starting in Normal difficulty, you have then Hard, then Apocalyptic. That's a lot.
Also, with the creature cores system (it's like a massive materia-style FF7 tree), each core that you can slot has to be leveled up. I highly doubt you can do this in a single playthrough. Also, there is re-traversal (a little bit of Metroidvania) by replaying levels with new items or abilities to collect secret items / skills / secret paths and doors with Trickster keys.
