Edit: Other than that he seems quite normal and sane.
of course, the zombie apocalypse can happen anytime now, that's because every responsible human should spend his time playing realistic zombie apocalypse games so they can train killing their zombified neighbours
thank you for your reply, so if I understand you correctly, the number of npcs available for recruitment to the player is finite, so it may at least be theoretically possible that at some point due to the permadeath mechanic there is none anymore to recruit. Is this correct? I don't mind the permadeath feature per se, as long as it doesn't negatively affect the gameplay. I've played a lot of games which have it, but it is a fundamental difference if a character is a disposable asset as in games like Battle Brothers which you can easily replace or a static, story defined element available in a finite pool. In each case permadeath is a very different concept. The second case is something I'd likely avoid.
You can in theory lose them all and that would make encounters very difficult. But then if you lost 12 recruits already, with all the safeguards and medical treatment available, logic says you were playing at the wrong difficulty level all along.
Hi!
so we can postpone indefinitely turning into zombie or, even with treatment, they are just on the clock with grim reaper visit?
Only postpones the outbreak for 24h more. Either you leave them back at base clinic or they need to come back and receive their pills.
You can manage your roster and leave everyone else at base. Is the game balanced for solo play? Nope.
I wouldn't advise it, there's no such thing as jack-of-all-trades.
If you really like challenges you can try it maybe at Recruit (easy) difficulty, but keep in mind - although there are less enemies, - they're still unforgiving if given the slightest chance.
Just a thought. It's good to hear I'm not *forced* to have a party though, masochistic as that might be.
So is there a way to buy/craft the pills so you can take them into the field with the infected party members? (Seems kind of bizarre they can't bring along a few pills to stave off the infection in their inventory, short it the "treatment" being some kind of IV administered solution it should absolutely be portable, perhaps with the treatment having some kind of odor that makes zombies prioritize them over other targets or detect them at longer distances to keep game balance.)
Having options to customize experience is always nice though when you can figure it out.
Also would really love to see a memorial in the game if it is not already. I like permadeath, but I also like to have a list of characters that died.
