How to travel to different stars?

So right now I am in the beggining system and I want to go to another star (Sol for example).

I have figured out how to jump to different points within a system. How do I expand the nav map to let me select points on other systems?

For going to sol that probably a little bit complicate but if you want going to olympus prime for example that the system right to saphire when you look at you quadrant. You need to pass trough the gate in saphire with the name olympus for going to olympus.

Gates are Purple/Pink on your map. Mouse over to see where it leads to.
There are also WormHoles that you can use. They are not visible on your map. (Blue Spheres).

You can also travel anywhere without using Gates or WH's.
You need to manually enter the coordinates in your map console. (Enter to set value).

You cant expand the navmap to view any farther than 20 sectors spherical from your location (I think its 10 in all directions if I remember right). Anyways here's more good info to see about the game
