Breaks on some Computers using Controller

I have had no problems myself with this game myself. However, two of my friends now have had an issue using controller wherein their character is forced to move backwards, and cannot move forwards. It does not look like a controller issue because it does not happen when the camera is flipped. Their controllers work well in other games, so it seems like a Slapshot issue.

Any help or anyone else experience this?
