How create Custom level for Worms United?
How can I create my own level, or rather a colored map for Worms United? Whoever did it, who has a video guide, then the Worms2d.info website has instructions, tried it, nothing happened. I also want to create my maps ((

This user has a lot of cards. And I want to create my maps.

Either these maps were made in GIMP, where I made the maps, but it did not work, or in Adobe Photoshop? I personally do maps and other stuff for Worms Armageddon, Worms Reloaded in Adobe Photoshop. This program can save the card and background format to PCX. Or some other editor?

It's been a long time since I did that, but I remember that the game seemed to be very picky about the image format. Only when I used "NeoPaint" for MSDOS to edit my maps they would work. And if there is just a single error in it, the game refuses to load it. I think I copied an existing map (they are in WORMS\DATA\CUSTOM\GFX) to see how they did it and then edited it to make my own.

or rather, you opened an existing card, and put your own? I just created a map, but it turned out distorted and the background turned out to be not transparent. Although I watched the video how to make a map and seemed to do it the same way, but did not get a better result.

No, I believe I did not replace an existing map, I just copied it and renamed it to make my own. If your background is not transparent, you have the wrong background color. Open an existing map with an image editor and use the color picker tool to select the correct background color.

The transparent background color is a shade of purple, looks like this: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2663927941

I first created a new layer for example in GIMP. Because the instruction was taken from here.

I haven't tried it, but the instructions from this thread look correct to me. That's how you do it. But it's impossible for me to tell what went wrong with your image because I do not have it. Remember, you need to fill the background with the color that's at slot 0 in your palette. And when you're done, use the worms tool (gfxcon) to convert the image.

Wait... you converted ponies.pcx to poniesplay.pcx, but in Worms you loaded the old unconverted ponies.pcx. Could that be the problem? What if you load poniesplay? Also remember, DOS filename cannot be longer than 8 letters, better use a shorter one to avoid errors, maybe ponies2.pcx instead.

I didn’t really understand about that color for the map. In Adobe Photoshop, for example, I just fill the transparent layer in the color that exists in the existing maps, and then just add my own map, it seems like I did this with this color according to these instructions, but everything turns out the same. Here, this dude did everything well, it's a pity that the download of the maps will not work, the link does not open.

So I would like to know how he did it.

It's a pity that there are few such players. It would be easier to navigate. How and what. That instruction seems to be like this, but in the end it turned out to be very

So did you try what I wrote above? Convert your ponies.pcx to ponies2.pcx and then load ponies2 (not the original file)?

I would not use Photoshop for editing the maps. Use the instructions from the forum for GIMP, they seem to be correct for the palette format that Worms expects.

And you can help, follow these instructions, but as you know, video guide. Or don't you have time for this?
