Temporary vs Permanent Transformations

Dear Developer, Is the Orc Fairy a temporary transformation? After finally winning Kara's challenge, I died towards the end of the second stage and to my dismay, discovered that the Orc Fairy mutation does not show up back at the lab. :(. My heart broke.

The Transformations you unlock in Challenges are only temporary for one playthrough to help you pass through the game. Each one of them is actually an additional life you can have.

However, if you defeat the final demon you can choose to unlock this one, or any other Transformation permanently and heal your heart :)

Aaaand sorry for the broken heart, this was not our intention! :)

That kind of sucks to be honest. With no actual progression until you beat the entire game it starts feeling grindy real fast

I second, the way the game is currently set up is not fun. What? I get TWO characters and if I don't like them I can go screw myself? Also the second life didn't even activate, I still turned into a head and died, despite unlocking th fire guy. I cannot recommend this game as is, Nuclear Throne is like 1000x better man. Add more characters and add some b skins and ill change my review

The mechanics are fairly straightforward:

1. At the beginning of the playthrough you choose ONE Transformation to play with from unlocked Transformations. If your Transformation is killed you still have Hellmut (head) and can resurrect your killed Transformation or acquire new one.

2. After each playthrough you unlock PERMANENTLY one Transformation which you can choose for your next playthrough. Normally one playthrough can be completed within 30-40 minutes, or so.

3. In Challenges you unlock TEMPORARY Transformation which can help you to make it through the playthrough .

4. After unlocking ALL Transformations you get back your body (Ultimate Transformation)

Overall there are 10 Transformations you can play with. At the beginning you can only choose from 2 Transformations though as the rest of the Transformations are intended as reward.
The problem if you don't like starting characters was indeed not considered very thoroughly... :)

We consider adding more characters with the future patches but that's still in the progress; we are analyzing the feedbacks and the ways to improve the gameplay..

It is always difficult to challenge great games like NT and EtG, especially with the small unexperienced 2 persons team like we are but we are doing our best and hopefully we will be able to upgrade all eventually :)
