For full disclosure I received this game through Curator Connect for review purposes. This game is a very strange one. This game doesn't play like a typical RPGmaker game as their are not much turn based battles or side quests and etc. Something instantly noticeable is the Art is very abstract. You see much games that looks like this. The music is also very strange but in a good way. While the art and music are good the story, gameplay, and mechanics are not so good. Let's start with the mechanics. The controls are terrible, for example you move around with the arrow keys and attack with the ALT key! You can't change the controls and no controller program works with it. The Steam controller can not work with this game for some reason. The Gameplay has good deal of issues as well. The stats and pause menu use icons instead of text so you will not have any idea what anything is. Your character moves very slow even with the run button. You have no idea what can be interactive with and what can't. You can use the mouse to interact with some backgrounds but only way you will know this is by dragging the mouse around every background. This is a pain as the mouse is not used for anything else so you will find you won't use the mouse that often. The game also lags a lot which should not be an issue with my GPU. Obviously the RPGmakerXP engine is holding the game back. Unity would have been a much better engine to use in my opinion. Sadly the worse aspect of this game is the story or what the game considers a story. The plot is that you are a guy that killed himself and is brought back to life by god to do something. The PC then meets the devil and he turns your living gun into a cat phone? You can ask the cat phone what you are suppose to do and it tells you to do what you want. So you just wonder randomly until you get arrested and then you are forced to play as another character. This new character can't fight and can just wonder around until until you play as the original character again. Notice a pattern? Oh and the second character is never played again and is not important to the story as a whole. Now your character is drafted to a war where you don't know anything about this war or the sides. You beat the boss and then play as the third character which is a Mailbox Zebra. With this character you can battle unlike the second character but it is turn based and not action based like the Main character. After you wonder around and find some random creature you go back to the first character and the mailbox zebra is never played again. So then you eventually come to a apartment complex where you have to get to the top and fight the boss. Problem is that the elevator needs keys and keys are dropped by random NPCs. NPCs are horrible in this game as there dialog have nothing to do with the game, world, or plot. So there is no way to know which NPC has a key. So you have to kill everyone in order to find them. Killing NPCs make where the cops that look like Vending machines attack you. Beating the boss teleports you to the worse area in the game, a colorless void where the maps are random. The whole area is a maze where luck is needed to leave. When you get out the devil gives you a frog car so you can finally explore the world map. From here you can go straight to the final area which is a pyramid. Thought out this game there have been hints that a worm with a pyramid head is the main villain as he owns the world and sends enemies to kill you for some reason. When you confront the worm he tells you that he is done mining the world and then blows it up. So after beating him you can either stay in space and run out a fuel which is gameover or crash on the moon. While on the moon you will quickly find out that it is a dead end. Yes the entire worm boss fight is a trap. If I did not get the mushroom from a sidequest I would have been screwed. You must use the mushroom to get off the moon and to eventually get to the true final area. The final area is a maze with a wall you have to break. This wall has no indication that this wall is breakable. I had to look up a play through just to know I could break that wall. Then your cat phone reveal that it is truly a demon and want to kill you you beat it and it transform into a gun again. So you eventually fight the devil who is the true final boss. You beat him and you are trapped in a dark room and where you can do nothing. Your gun appears and tells you to kill yourself again. Here you can get two endings. One ending is choosing any reply but the last one and it lead to you getting reborn and playing a newgame plus. The true ending is choosing the last reply which leads to the MC shooting into the void and leaving. He ends up on a Bus and that is the ending. The story makes no sense. The game never once shows me why I am doing what I am doing. It feels like the game is a fever dream, which is probaly what they was going for. If you look at the kickstarter page you will see that this game was originally going to have a plot where you are hunting the devil and the other 2 characters was going to be more important. I don't know what happen but it did not turn out well. All in all I can not recommend this game. It is a aimless RPG with dead ends and poor optimization. The art and music are good but not worth slow and confusing gameplay.
