I already have a minor idea of the story on the first VN, but the anime adaptation usually dives off in a different direction as opposed to sticking to the VN storyline sometimes, so not quite an equal comparrison. I'm curious if the first one is ever planned to come in the future.

But then at the same time, I never did understand the fascination with bringing over sequels to stuff first as opposed to bringing the first over for continuity sake. Lot of good VN's never make it state-side, so I always have to rely on fan patches or something.

While at the same time, as a company we have to observe the market's needs when we make decisions. Tayutama2-you're the only one- is our first attempt, if everything goes on well, then the prequel will come soon.😉

Just like yesterday I saw opening from that and was thinking - damn i want to play that. Well, good (kinda, it depends from way of release it, with mosaic or not) start of the day. But I can already tell it will be with censorship, so.. ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Edit: Oh wait.. VNDB says 16+ for english release for Magical Charming, while chinese is also 18+ via patch.. One thing guys - this is not the way to aproach our market. Go into 'A Sky full of stars' forum on Steam and check posts about it. Just wanna warn u about making games +18 to AA only because u want it on Steam and get money. Join the right side of this (MG, Jast, MiKandi, SolPress and FrontWing last projects) not the wrong ones (SP/Denpa, MoeNovel). U have wrote on ur Twitter account:

So pls 'do care'. U need realize that western fans mosly don't wanna games with censorship (AA, mosaic). Until u don't get it, u won't be able to get proper amount of $ from us. MoeNovel is the other situation. Hikari Field at least make 18+ patch for Tayutama 2 and... Sakuranomori Dreamers (only Chinese now).
So, we can hope for news.

I would agree 100% with u... But, I don't live in Japan.. I don't know about u (cuz of ur hidden profile) but im pretty sure ur also from somewhere else.. So question shoud be - Why we should be obedient to Japan law? Answer is - we shouldn't. Same goes for publishers. Ones like Denpa and Sekai Project who are saying:

'Game was like that in Japan and we can't do nothing about it so buy game or GTFO' (last part was mine, but thats what pretty much is in their minds'

They are just lazy bums who are afraid to make demand to devs for uncensored HCG. Probably cuz devs would want more money for it and SP don't wanna spend money (or lose their.. Hmm.. Position?) cuz they know some % of ppl will buy it anyway. Look now on Mangagamer. 1 of 15 big upcoming games (10-30 hours long by VNDB standards) are without mosaic! Miracle! I know that some Japan devs are pretty stuborn about it - for example this one game (Trinoline from Minori, again MG catalog) but hey, we got 15 others so i can live with that. On the other hand in SP case is other way around. U got 1 of 20 titles without mosaic (ChronoClock from BIG, but it took almost half of the year to patch. Firstly they said that arts were lost, but later they were found.. Miracle again!) and some minors where i can count them using fingers from one hand. Jast is the same example as MG. Also recent projects from FrontWing (SubaHibi), MiKandi (Libra), SolPress (Newton) shows that its certainly doable. If mosaic is such a problem they should start a project on Kickstarter and set a target for unmosaiced version. I believe it would be done in 1, mby 2 days. Overall money rules the world. Also in case of law.. Are they afraid that some citizen of Japan gonna reach unmosaiced version? Well, there are some ways of distribution or region block if we talk about Steam. Still if this certain fellow is stubborn enough to reach it, who is breaking the law?

Ergo ending this already too long post - Japan law is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ for Western release. We are to blame for it partially cuz there are people who buy everything anyways saying 'Oh thank you! If it wasn't u, I would never play it, i dont care half ot the content is cut, well I need to live with that i suppose' instead of vote with wallets and shows devs/pub our demands. I know VN genre is niche overall, but it kinda looks like story with BattleFront 2 - unless ppl don't show that they are not stupid enough to buy everything, topic with mosaic/censorship will be present in every new project when new publisher is gonna try his luck. We know its not gonna happen with MoeNovel and SP. They are beyond our reach already.

I'm in the US, my profile is hidden outside of friends due to various reasons I don't feel like getting into.

The problem is, and one of my friends did confirm it for me, some artists for these VN's in Japan don't even bother to draw anything resembling the crotches, so basically... it's bare. Its like in Moero Chronicle when I was digging through the default assets. None of the bits were ever drawn or anything, so some of the girls were manually done. (I am one of the people heading up that mod btw)

This is compounded by the fact that some artists think that since its going to be censored anyway, why bother drawing it in the first place? That's basically what's happening so that even if there were to be a version without mosaics, there's nothing there to show in the first place. This is not always the case, but seems to be the most common at the moment. So essentially, if the master source is censored, there's no chance of it ever being uncensored unless the company was up to getting around legalities when it comes to the states.

It used to be that VN's were uncensored outside of Japan for a while, but something changed in the last decade or so regarding that.

Personally, I don't really care about the crotch or sex anyway which is my only reason I don't care about the mosaics too much, even though I'd rather them not there in the first place.

Also, Sekai Project can go die for all I care at this point. I just wish they didn't have a hold on the license for NekoPara because I'd rather not spend money towards Sekai Project any further. (this is coming from the person who backed the OVA project >.>)

Well, I know about part where 'they dont draw those parts, cuz game don't gonna leave Japan'. But now case is different. If they want to reach western market they should check expectations and what ppl willingly pay for. Lets be honest - it bussines and work for them. If they wanna increase income then they should adjust product for particular client.

Also about SP. They took games from Yuzu Soft and thats what im not gonna forgive them. I was hoped that mby other publisher gonna release them in proper way but now all hope is gone. Togheter with license that gone to SP.

Aaaalso.. Still waiting for Maitetsu release. Popcorn is waiting to be done for a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a decade.

Guys... Mosaic is not deal for me, but I'm okay with it. More scary when we almost haven't any alternative (look at MoeNovel, never releases 18+ in any way). So... Yeah.

I also waiting Maitetsu, but... Uncensored is almost impossible with Sekai policy (almost all games from them are censored).
If it goes to Mangagamer, then yes... But... Ugh...

Even some of the novels from Mangagamer are going to have mosaics. eden* is an example of that, Shuffle when they had the license does (for some reason, they still have the two sequels). So...

I've never said that MG has not mosaic games, but i can forgive them. Honestly cuz u are fine with mosaic is bad too. We need to stand united, not making subclasses inside fanbase. Until we will be fine with it, they will get money from ppl like u. U should show ur demands not accept everything with bad release. Im talking about SP mostly, where they refuse to even try to get unmosaiced version. Maitetsu never will go to MG cuz SP already own license. And yes, this will not be +18 or hell, without mosaic (Ahahahahaahha). That why i have popcorn ready.

More than half the visual novels I want to play or legit own never get licensed. If I never buy them because I'm voting with my wallet, how else am I suppose to support at least something?

Voting with your wallet is a double edged sword. Sure it can send a message. But it also can backfire and that companies will stop licensing these VN's and just never release them in the states again because there's no market for it.

So, its a pick your poison thing. Either deal with the mosaics and just keep hounding on the companies, or don't buy and just instead play other games because we'll never get the VN's in the first place anyway.
