Censored or uncensored - that doesn'r matter then... Because, for example, Sky Full of Stars (Miagete Goran) by MoeNovel only all ages, and that's totally awful, when you release eroge game without ero content...
Nice.
Anyway, thanks for that.
1. The original art no longer exists (unlikely)
2. The japanese company is strictly against it because of personal reasons and not why nobody told them they can publish mosaic free in the west without problems. (likelier then the first one)
The other problem are the Japanese laws which shouldn't affect the US market, but it does. If the JP master source is censored, then that's what we're going to get too.
I said this somewhere else on another forum, but face it, mosaics are here to stay for the time being until laws change. Most artists these days don't typically draw genitals anymore because its just going to end up censored anyway, so why put in the effort? Few will still do so though, but the trend I'm seeing is that it is becoming fewer unless they move everything to the US where such laws wouldn't affect them. Oh, but the US market on visual novels is still pretty niche as it is.
The market is large enough that even steam itself mentioned it on their presentations about greenlights success and its successor programm. Therefore only really dumb companies that pay no attention to their customers would still think there is no market in the west, if their VNs wouldn't be purchased.
A point I mentioned as valid excuse. But you could lunch a kickstarter with a redrawing streachgoal that would be reached instantly.
Thats an intresting argument that I hear from time to time but nearly all H-content I find from jp has those bits drawn. Only some large mangas have them whited/blacked out and even then you can sometimes find the storys with only bars above those parts in doujinshis. So it's only be a minority of the artists.
Also we hopefully see the opposite happening in the near future. Frontwing is allready aware that the english market wants mosaic free releases and publishes their games mosaic free if possible. This game[vndb.org] is in production and has allready a english release planed therefore they might draw everthing perfect from the start.
In short: TY!
