Profile Lost

Is there a reason why save profiles have been lost? I played the game a while ago and had finished the game and maxed everything out because I loved the game, and then saw the new DLC and instantly got it. Figured I'd give it a bash but my profile had disappeared.

No matter, I just started again and refreshed my mind and did a bunch of missions again and started grinding and got to something like level 24 today in like the space of a day or two and then logged in this evening and my profile was gone again.

Is there a bug where profiles are missing or data is corrupt and just gets deleted? This is a huge problem as I see people have reported profiles gone missing before. I've tried some of the solutions posted too but nothing seems to have fixed it either. Not quite sure what to do as I don't want to spend hours playing it all again...

Is there anyone that could help? I've even got the files from the profile and I know where I was in the story missions. Would love to be able to continue playing. :/

Maybe you're missing the "name_" file with one line inside, the name of the profile.

Thanks for the reply. I've tried all sorts of things, creating new "name_" files, copying existing ones from in-game, replacing new ones, copying old ones, every single time I try, the profile just seems to start me off from the beginning of the game again.

I've got a bunch of "items_X_XX_XX" and "playerdata_X_XX_XX" files in my Profile_0 folder, and when I move them to a new folder as renamed (from your link), they don't ever work and just start me from the beginning of the game again.

Is there anything else that you can suggest that can help me with this? I just started 17 The Replica and just got access to the Mc Donalds contract and really want to start playing the new content.

nice! after coming back from a longer hiatus it seems like nothing was ever saved to the steam cloud: only new profiles available to start new games. wd devs!

same thing happens to me.

i bought a DLC after spent few hours without any dlcs.

then my all profile has been lost.

can't solve it with solutions as dev said.

what a broken.

i just want to ask if i can create more than one profile i dont want to try it cause my sister played it for like 10 hours and i dont want to ruin it to her

Yes you can, just choose one of the "empty profile slots" & name it so you both know who's is who's.
