Micro Cams almost useless?
Sincere question here. I get that they are great for getting routines if you can place them. I bought like 6 of them, which was clearly too much because I could place like 1 or 2 on Richy R Street and so far I see no Mailbox to put one in the third neighborhood.
So as great as it is to get full intel quick, It feels stupid that a tool you get a bit late in game can at that point maybe be used for like 5 houses in total.
At least that was the case for me because at that point I had either staked out the houses or bought some info on the Forum.
Unless ofcourse I´m missing something. Maybe theres Mailboxes (or alternatives) on the properties? If that were the case I guess my complaint would be null.

In NG plus you can get use out micro cams much earlier since you start with all your skills. All you need to do is buy them. However I think that a good way theycould have been made more useful for later areas is if they could be placed in other areas or if they wanted to balance the micro camera they could only make it detect the routine of people that passed directly in front of the camera. This would make it so the player had to take a risk and place them somewhere in the property that would detect them.

Maybe I missed a tutorial bit on them, but other than being required to use one for a specific mission (206 I think) I didn't find another use for them. Maybe because when I first got to a new area I ran around it the first day marking any person I saw and uncovered 75%+ of all schedules that way.

Yea they are honestly not great. You can plant them in mailboxes in front of some houses. Emphasis on some, because its not that many and by the time you can buy these in the first run you might already have intel on those houses anyways.

If you find a house with the proper mailbox and where you still need the intel you can just place the camera (the mailbox will have a camera symbol on it).
After placing it the symbol changes to a clock to indicate that you now have to wait for 24 hours. After that you just click the mailbox to retrieve the cam (yes you get it back) and you have full intel on the inhabitants schedules.
