Speedrunning

So, the current WR (as far as I know, if you know someone who has faster let me know) is GGCookies at 1:58 and some seconds. I just did a 2:08 and some seconds. This has been a blast to route some stuff and honestly the biggest challenge has been hitting the level requirement while also getting the money for the laptop. Thank goodness for the anitques.

Yeah, cheats make this a no go. So not really a "speedrun" in the sense that a community would accept.

I want to get to freeplay without the story - that's the way to do it.

"Like I care what the community would accept..?" I mean. . . you commented a speedrun thing which is generally used to mean a community where people try to beat the game as quickly as possible in a legit fashion (glitches are sometimes acceptable but console commands almost never are).

I assumed you knew that is what this was in reference to and not a guide to "how to get to freeplay as quickly as possible."

You dont Finish the game here, you simply enter free mode which is actually really useful if there is any other runs which i have considered such as "all thug missions" ect

Do you have a link to it? I'd like to see what can be optimized to make the run faster.

If you can optimize something have at it. Sub 50 is absolutely possible with that route, and there may be other ways to route that would save time. Definitely possible to take the WR from me at this point.

If you wish I can send you a copy of my splits if you want to use them as a basis to run against for optimizing various parts if you choose to run the same route. I also have documentation of various things I am more than willing to share with ANYONE that wants to try and speedrun this game that will help you a lot with initial routing. Feel free to hit me up for them.

I'd love to! I tried someone it out and it was really fun. I've always watched speedruns, but doing one is kinda thrilling.

New patch means new record. Time to beat with the new update is 55 minutes and 52 seconds. Anyone up for the challenge? There are some documents up on speedrun.com for the game to help get started and you can always hit me up on here or the discord if you want to give it a shot. There is definitely time to save from my run (video is inc). . . Do you have what it takes to be the World Record holder for Thief Simulator?
