coins cheat not working with cheat engine
Please withhold the soap box or goodie two shoes speaches.. but i am kind of at the point where i would like more coins to upgrade my settlers, besides mining gold and making coins is there a cheat (again morality aside please) to increase your coins?
when i do a search engine it never works into the 2nd search.
Thank you

Mining silver and copper and making coins. Also send scouts to find as many merchants as possible so you can sell all the stuff you have made/looted. Some items sell for a ton. Send out more scouts to find more fights to get more cash and loot.

To my knowledge there is no magical cheat code but cash can be readily gained through all of the above. For those not trying to finish within a competitive time you can also fast forward time a ways while making a lot of expensive items, then send the scouts to find merchants.

Edit: Also use diplomacy points to bring in merchants.

As Tio says, getting a merchant that cleans out unwanted items is the big win but not always easy to trigger.

A lot will depend on what era you are in. The early eras are aimed at understanding combat and trying a few different builds without any major impact to the long game.

Eras 4-6 are focused on managing doom points, getting money and gearing up to face the end game.

Eras 7+ you should have no issue with finances and instead be focusing your time in obtaining top grade loot.

Money does not really help in this game but my method works. Note the specific amount of coins you have, then open up your save file using words. Please have a backup file first! Then search for the specific number. That should be your coin value. Just edit the number (add a few 9s in front) and you got your coins.

This is a really old thread that was bumped, but I'll add my two cents. You can edit your save file (use notepad++). The section after all your characters is your inventory/storage. Find the value that is the same as your coins, and increase it as you desire.

I edited the coins in my save and the game punished me by deleting all my money, displaying a message saying coins were modified and thus the money was deleted. I think that If i want and can edit my save to give myself a boost in my single player game it's my own bussines, i enjoy the game more that way. If the idea is to guard the steam achievements i suggest disabling them when a save is edited instead. I respectfully request that this change is implemented or instructions on how to bypass this in game virtual mom who doesn't let me cheat in my game.
Thanks and i hope to read Tormunda's opinion about this matter.

Hi MiniTofu,
I did put in an anti-cheat code into the save system in the beta for update 2.
However, after thoughts on this I am happy to remove this code as I am all for people playing the game in the way they wish to play it. I will remove this code in the next update.
