Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

Anybody else thinking this is too expensive?
I'd like to buy Recettear, but for a 3 year old indie game... iit's just too much! Even the bundle is the same exact price as the separate games... Is there even a point in buying a bundle in this case? :/

Looks like you totally missed the sale some weeks ago.

Argh I had completely forgotten about this game until today when I watched Brutalmoose's review of Chantelise :((((

Lesson #1 about purchasing Recettear:

YOU DON'T PAY FULL PRICE FOR RECETTEAR.

Lesson #2 about purchasing Recettear:

Buy low, sell high

Lesson #3 about purchasing Recettear:

Watch out for Steam store homepage. When you see Tear featured there... GO! Don't sleep, don't take a pause, don't let your credit card cool down. Tear REALLY LOVES screen time :)

Lesson #4 about purchasing Recettear

You don't have to buy the entire bundle, y'know? ...unless you're planning to trade ;)

It was on sale a few weeks back??!! Dammit. I wanted to get this game as well but I also think it is kind of expensive. I'm planning to grab the bundle if it goes on sale this summer. I got recommended to this game when I was searching for game similar to harvest moon =P played the demo and would love to get a copy myself!

Just keep it on your wish list so you'll be alerted when it's on sale. I'd honestly buy it again for full price if I had to, but it's a steal when it's cheap.

Have you played it?

I downloaded the demo back when Recettear was released on Steam. I tried it just when the 10% release discount was over. I played the demo and as soon as I finished it, I went and bought the game. I love(d) it.

Personally, I think the price is fine. I'd buy it again at full price, didn't regret it a bit.
It's always down to yourself, if you value the idea/effort and most importantly the fun you have enough to pay the price.

Or, to answer the OP, no, I think the price is perfectly fine for the fun I have with the game. :-)

To be sincere, I paid full retail price after testing the demo.

3 days later, the Winter Sale started.

OUCH.

Still, I don't regret my purchase. Game is fun, I'm hooked to it, so it was money well spent. But it somehow contradicts the whole point of the game - buy low sell high. Oh the irony :P

I bought all three games from EasyGameStation and don't regret it at all. It was on sales, but for once I wouldn't have mind buying it at full price. And no i do'nt believe it's too expensive. I'm usually someone looking at the real values of things and stuff and I find that almost every game is overrated and overpriced these days, especially for virtual stuffs, and where these games should not be labeled 50€, nor even 20€, I find them by far much better than most of AAA games. They're at once better with the no need of an high price They're like, true.
Rainbow Dash 8 jul, 2013 @ 11:05
Oh and also better than all these "indie" crappy games of course, low price or not.

Eeeeh.. Fortune Summomers is from Lizsoft, not from EGS. I think you meant Carpe Fulgur (which is the publisher for these trio of games).

And as expected, Recettear and the Carpe Fulgur bundle are now on sale. (assuming you can get to the store, of course)

Nice, this time Steam learned to do math! (as in actually saving money by purchasing the bundle instead of the separate games - last time the bundle was more expensive... for two cents!)

It's worth every penny.

Where have people gotten this strange idea that because most indies are cheaper then big name titles from ubisoft or EA or whatever indie games have to be cheap?

This game offers more playtime and content then 3 average €44,95 "AAA" titles put together, its already dirt cheap.
