Sound Works - But Crackle on Start-Up + Audio Delay (Steam Deck)

I finally got everything running through the ProtonGE switching wizardry, but like a lot of other people, the game always starts with an annoying audio crackle + a delay of 1 second. Does ANYONE have a fix for this to line everything up correctly and get rid of the crackle?

I'm so close to having this game set up perfectly and it's been frustrating me to no end.

Willing to PayPal €5-10 to someone helping me set up a fix if the euro is still worth something at that point... capitalism, ho.

No dice, unfortunately. Same issue.

I've seen people suggest Protontricks can be used to mitigate the audio delay, but it is not an app that is functional on the Steam Deck atm
