Game saves disapeared?

I had 3 saves... all gone now all of a sudden. 18 hours of gameplay gone :(

Did you do anything like reinstall the game, reinstall steam or mess with the files of the game? Or at the least something that could of caused you to lose your save files?

not since my last playthrough. But when I did try to boot the game up it was a blankish screen. so I crtl+alt+deleted it and reopened it and bam, all files gone :(

Did you try to edit your old saved files with a saved game editor? It might have corrupted the save files, if you editted it that is.

Also, are you able to find your saved files inside of the game's directory?

nope, never done anything like that. nor have I moved them the files or anything. I basically just booted up the game and it didnt work so I closed it, booted it up againa and bam, everything gone.

My save is gone too, played to day 4 since i just bought the game.. but i have only the option to start a new game. or am i missing something?
The controls arent exactly knowned to me.

Thats what happened to me. Unsure what the glitch is but from what I can tell, yor saves are gone. I had 2 others :(

Press the menu button, and move the cursor to the Save option, and press the accept button.

I noticed there is an erase all option back at the main menu and wonder if somehow it gets triggered for no reason?

So, 8 years later, has anyone ever figured out how to get saves to persist between sessions? Because this is still an issue...

There really isnt anything to figure out. The game has no bug of this type. If the save file isnt saving that means YOUR COMPUTER uniquely has a problem. Either a file permission issue where the game is located preventing you from having file creation access, or your anti virus is causing problems.
