Putting the same item six times into vendor machine?
Is it a problem if I put the same item six times into a vendor?
Would it make a difference if I would put the same item in all slots in all vendors?

I don't think so. Why would it be?

I just beat the game (second time) and have three vendor machines running.
One with just rings and charms, one only with treasures and one with the normal stuff like weapons and armor.
The machine with the weapons/armor does nearly always sell 1-3 items. So I am unsure.

The only risk of doing this is potentially creating a market crash for that item. When you sell too many of a certain item in a short time, you'll end up with a situation where the item won't sell at all anymore.

I believe it's something like selling 12 of the same items each day for a few days straight, but I could be off on the exact rules.

Ah, that could be the reason I sell no more treasure in the vendor.
Ok. So it is possible, but not the smartest thing to do.
Thanks.

The market crash should be pretty visible. The items price will be a deep blue color and I believe there is a clear news bulletin about it.

Throw junk you purchase from customers into the machines. In the late game when you have machines it's better to only be selling extremely expensive stuff directly to customers. The junk they sell you is worthless.

No, I want the most expensive items in the machines AND in my inventory.
But it seems to have a machine full of six rings of the same kind is not a good idea :-)

Its not a bad idea. it just doesnt really matter. Also there is no such thing as 'causing a market crash'. The price slumps/hikes that appear in game are completely random AFTER the first one (which is always candy)

Uhm, I'm afraid there is: http://recettear.wikia.com/wiki/Announcements#Crash. It's rare, but I've seen it several times.

Its rare because the RNG determines it. Not because of YOUR behavior. I've had many MANY playthroughs where i solely focused on just 3-4 items that had the best profit and never got a crash for over selling those items. Price crashes occur. It just has nothing to do with what you are doing.

Yeah, I realized early on that this game really isn't as much an economy sim as much as just a business sim.

What makes you think the wiki is incorrect and your anecdotal observations aren't?

When a market crash occurs is when you want to use the vending machines. They're a NO HAGGLE sale and if the customer wants that item they pay the set price, even if it is WAY higher than current market. And they won't even get mad. So when the market is favorable for the seller to up the price, sell it on a table, and when the market falls out, vending machine is the way to go.

2 reasons. First one I already said. Lack of it actually happening over the course of multiple dozens of games. Second reason is while browsing through the actual assembly code related to sales when I created my cheat engine scripts to make an auto price handler script I never ran into such a feature. Using a debugger you can set a 'watch' so that anytime a piece of memory is accessed it will make a link to the assembly code that performed that read or write operation. None of the watches I placed on the 'item for sale' id number got called in a location where the id was stored along with a counter value (ie: the game didnt track number of sales for items in a given time)
