Why this game is so hated ?

I played every GRID game before. And IMO this is the best one. Original had very very stupid AI which raced like a wall and if you hit them or they hit you - you dead. GRID2 had absolutely atrocious handling and asked you to drift on corners all of the time. Some tracks looked like they are not designed to race with several car classes. And again totally stupid and lazy made AI. GRID3 - all of the same, excluding handling. This version gave me far more pleasure from driving, especially on a wheel. It is now playable with controller as well. AI is somewhat fixed also. Yes, game lacks a lot of content and DLC/Seasons BS is still here as well as pricing, but IMO in core - this is the best GRID game so far.

I agree with it being the best one so far in the GRID series (especially with a wheel imo) but many seem to disagree if you read the steam reviews.

One thing for sure though; the game needs some work.
In multiplayer I cant see my race earnings for some reason..
Can also not tune my car before race
I'm not really a fan of the skirmish lobby either.
And of course I always want more cars/tracks
the DLC prices are bit steep for what you get.
Multiplayer is pretty dead atm though, usually only see like 1-2 lobbies.. good thing I play private games with friends and AI. We're really enjoying it, so I can't complain

True words. Game needs polishing. A lot of it. The same polishing which GRID and GRID2 had. But at its core, for me, this is by no mean a bad game. I just hope Codemasters will finish this game before Autosport will die.

Driving and the codies handling feel, is awesome in GRID 2019, but all the other Grid games had more freedom, in like sponsors. Grid 2019 you get bored really quickly, from the lack of tracks, and you share no feeling for the car or the team mate.

I don't hate the game or love it, it is in between. Grid 2019 could have been so much more, than a cash grab, if you remember the original grid game, there you could choose sponsors, you felt you where part of something, you cared for the game.

I have the same feeling for Grid 2019 as for Grid 2. Grid 2 was a fairly good game, but i had almost no feeling for the game or the cars, just like the 2019 edition.

Insted of giving the play more option and freedom to play, the did the opposite, removed freedom and options, so it is just driving left.

Yes. I have that feeling to. It feels like... you are not a part of the team. You are the driver for hire who works only for money, and keeps his... idk "agency". There is no "My Crew, My Team, My Glory" feeling.

Because;

#opposition is hard (Forza, AC, PC2... etc.) and yet there are not many tracks nor cars that can NOT be found in any other modern PC game. Give people SOLID UNDENIABLE REASONS to buy this game.

#some of the Grid fans are way too much occupied within earlier Grid games for too long, so much that they are literally IMPRISONED within, not even able to play other racing games. Only one thing can normally terminate their imprisonment; closing down the servers of all old Grid games.*

#some young gamers trust on their followed youtuber SO MUCH that once he/she writes off something in X game, they do not even bother with X, whatever the content, whatever the reviews, whatever the career. They automatically can not get used to that game after their followed youtuber dismissed it. Wnat is worse, they are not aware of this, just follow youtubers' instructions and counsels as if THEY drove in game.

#the game had some serious problems on release date but its price was much higher than current price. This motivated the crowds to write off the good points and even began to overlook really good aspects.

#very young gamers do not know Fernando Alonso, hence dismiss his inputs.

#Board of Codemasters gave this game a confusing name which made several gamers to open up their UTMOST attention to seek for problems even before game release. The reset for game franchise looked like a "copied idea" more than a unique one.

#Since this was a reset in Grid Franchise, people expected MORE content somehow. Why to increase expectations when you know that it will not have that much of ingredients on release day?

Will you buy it if they almost fix those points except downgraded damage? I mean, GRID, as a racing game without open world driving, can still be enticing for you to spend your time inside?

P.S: idk what videocard you played it on, but this game looks amazing in terms of visuals. Especially at rain. Visuals looks as they should in 2019 game.

This pathetic game has all those sill meaningless game modes in what it ridiculously calls Career.

What this is is dull, mind numbing and insulting and before any smart alec comes along with the old 'research first' cliché there are many like me who did and that is why we bought steam keys from the off at half the price.

Also I will just add in, at the time before release this game was being marketed as the next best and bestest Grid to date which is utter turkey dung. More false advertising.

At best it is the worst of the Grids and while many may like it there are equally many of us that know this was all about the money because it's clear there is nothing new here and was always going to be a kiddie game with all those typical sprinkling of cm fairy dust like XP and that drifting the OP mentions he hates in Grid2. I can agree about AI, but in previous games it even worse. In 2 and 3 especially.
About Visuals... idk, this game looks very good. Not Crysis 3 or Battlefield V but still not as bad as console games.
And let me guess... you are a fan of original game ? If yes, i have a bad news, i completed it some days ago, and this game is actually WORSE than reboot. You just need to do more pathetic drift events and other ♥♥♥♥ not related to actual racing. Original GRID game existence is questionable because in all ways it is bad. AI is garbage, controls are somewhat playable on wheel, but on a controller it is impossible, """""Career""""" is boring as hell (Career in all GRID games is the same, lets be honest (except GAS).). The only thing which hooked me to the end is collecting cars and Team management. Actual driving was total аss without wheel. How this game can be praised as simcade when it existed in the same time as GT and Forza is beyond me. As well as GRID2 and godawful Autosport. Reboot lacks a lot of things, but actual racing is finally okay for a simcade. No more forced drift at the very least. Maybe GRID never been good ? People convinced themselves that GRID was a good game once, because it is the ONLY simcade on PC. Now we have Forza but MS Store wall is preventing a lot of people to buy it.

4. Noone tells driving is bad. But this is only driving. This is not a tech demo. This is a GAME. Where are racing modes, tracks, career story? Just look how F1 career is developed!

Previous GRIDs could be bad in some aspects, but new GRID is bad almost in everything

GAS is the worst piece of ♥♥♥♥ i ever played. Everything from AI to variety and physics is total disaster. You cant even change you livery or choose teammate in singleplayer lmao. This game have more singleplayer content than entire GAS. Because entire GAS SP is boring and repetitive as hell, where EVERYTHING premade, if you bash reboot for lack of freedom, GAS has no freedom at all, especially with godawful AI.
P.S: using crazy compressed screenshots as proof, while not even having the game is 10 out of 10.
