A remake of GRID removed drifting from the game? Huh?
I was mildly interested in a remake of a 10 year old game where I had fun back in the days, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ they don't even have drifting anymore. Which was the only reason multiplayer in the old game lived for a long time. No freestyle drifting in an open area map, no track drifting for points and of course no tandem drifting. Daaaaamn.

Exactly, the drifting was what made me reinstall GRID 1 over the years.

While drift events are not everyone's cup-of-tea, racing games need that kind of sideshow to stand out from the pack.

Guess I'm one of the few who says "Thank god that drifting was removed!".

I hated the drifting that was in GRiD Autosport so thats a positive at my end.

I am more worried about the easy AI. I watched some gameplay video's and the AI is way too easy and too slow. Is there a more hardcore AI setting in the game?

Try AI on Medium. They do give you a run for your money, but Rival is not as what they said, they should act.

And thank the gods... they removed Drift events. Those events break race games and are hated in race games, now adays.

I always loved drifting in games. Espcially when its done right. Looking at Need for Speed games, where you can drift at high speed through corners is satisfiying.

Technically there is drifting because you get points for it.

I never liked drifting much but I do think it's odd that drifting modes were taken out completely.

Drift in grid 1? lol
I think you are mistaken. Drift was in grid 2 and it was very bad.

GRID (1) has drift and it was much better than in GRID 2.
I think they will add drift events in DLC lol.

Is this a remake of the first GRID game? If so, drifting was the best part of it. I would play other races just eager to find the next drift event.

GRID without drift is... not very interesting, and I certainly wouldn't buy it without drifting. I'll just play the original with drifting.

There's a ton of drifting in GRID 1. It's the most fun part of GRID 1.

I liked that Drift mode in the first Grid. But it had nothing to do with racing, so i can understand those who are happy that it doesnt excist anymore.
MancSoulja Oct 12, 2019 @ 4:39pm
This isn't a remake of anything.

I can't. GRID's career is designed so you play the events you want to play and skip the rest.
The "haters" aren't forced to do drifting, so their argument boils down to "I DON'T LIKE IT PERSONALLY...SO NO ONE ELSE SHOULD ENJOY IT" which is plain childish.
If you think that's unfair strawmanning than you're welcome to provide the "real reason".

Where does it say "GRID IS STRICTLY RACING"?
Drifting is a motorsport, it's been professional in Japan for over 30 years, before that it was a cornering technique in racing.
