If you want better GRID handling! (For Game-Pad)
(Tested with X-Box One controller)

I’d been rather disappointed with the driving feel in this new game, it felt sloppy and inaccurate. After dialing in my assist and controller settings I'm now enjoying the handing a lot! As fan of older GRID titles, I can now say this feels a lot more like it should!

I personally find the following settings make the cars a lot more responsive and accurate, while bringing back some of that old-school GRID feeling.
Drop Traction Control, Stability Control and ABS down to 1. If you need a little more help with managing throttle with RWD cars, turn TCS up as required. Set your Game-Pad Linearity to 0 and Sensitivity to roughly 80%

You'll find you're slowed down a lot less by the driver assists and will have more control in cornering and under braking. It will require a little more restraint with the throttle, but you can now catch slides naturally, balance the car with the throttle and with the lower ABS setting you’ll actually be able to turn corners under heavy braking and trail-braking will actually be useful

Please post any tips below if you've found settings you. If you're a keyboard user, I'd like to hear you're settings if you've found something that works well!

Hey man.
Using a razer wolverine xbox one controller here. Decided to try out your settings. Feels so good! So thanks alot! =)
Played this on Google Stadia before and didnt really like it there, never changed the settings either. So I think your tip made the game for me!

Glad it helped! I too am quite enjoying the racing now. Career is boring, but the Touring cars are properly fun now!

You know i'm actually playing the bay area storm event, and PERSONALLY i think just turning Traction Control, Stability Control and ABS down to 0 is actually way better.

I tried them all off with different controller settings, so gave it another go. It does work well for some car and track combinations, but many still need some ABS and some of the very tail happy or snap-over-steer prone cars benefit from a little TCS and ASM (Ferrari F430)

i'm trying to do the endurance races in the "touring" event, and I just cant get a grip on the handling, I spin out of control too easy. got any tips"?

nevermind, i just turned the assist options all the way up, because thats literally the only way to play endurance if you don't want to spin out of control. Having to change the controls for each game mode doesn't really bother me, but I think the developes could have handle this portion of the game a lot better.

You probably need to avoid the rumble strips or feather the throttle when running over them. They're extremely slippery and will instantly send you sideways unless you use restraint. The FGX Falcon is rather easy for me to drive with all assists on 1 or TCS ASM on 0, just gotta be careful on the slippery stuff

After getting absolutely destroyed in MP-races, I was just going to ask which assists slowed me down, many thanks! I didn't try to fumble with them as this game, unlike GRID 1 and the Forza-series, doesn't reward you by turning down assists.

Same here. Endurance can easily get frustrating. As you said, for me too, it's, "the only way to play endurance."

For most of the other races, the OP's config sounds good. Will try, (except endurance!) Thanks for the config tips, OP.

It might just be my driving style, but I find the Endurance events in the FG Falcon to not be difficult at all with these settings. High-powered RWD and MR cars do like to spin when running over rumble strips on some tracks, but some gentle application of the throttle while passing over them can effectively prevent a slide.

If you find it hard to catch any slides, try dropping either/both TCS and ASM to 0. I know it sounds counter intuitive, but these will often kill power once a slide is detected (and you will slide on low assist settings), but what you want is as much control over the throttle as possible in a slide.

All I can say is play with these one by one to see what works best

What you said is all true. What you said about, "catching slides," is a good tip. Thanks.

In my previous post I neglected to say one thing. While indeed the driving in Endurance is no different than regular short races, I get annoyed if I'm in the top three, and then say on the 8th lap I crash out, even with my rewind, I've still lost the feel. I suppose I am impatient because in my example I would restart the whole race/event if necessary. (I think it is necessary, right?)

But, thanks to your thread I shall endevour to finish endurance races with the same settings as other races. - Well, until the next time I stack on the 8th lap that is. Cheers.

Edit: I will deafo try out your suggestions for TCS and ASM. Very true about the throttle too.
Things are coming together in my mind as I type this. Thanks again, man. Good thread.
