I only played GRID 1. Did GRID 2 and subsequent have the figure 8 tracks and so on? Every now and then I liked to take a break from "respectful" racing and T-Bone someone. Has this been confirmed to be included?

GRID 2 had demolition derby as a free DLC

and I hope this new GRID will have that mode as well

When GRID 2 got release, there was no derby fig8 tracks!!

After a 5 year wait for a new GRID, we were expecting to get some new Derby fig8 tracks to race on. So we were majorly upset to find out GRID 2 had no derby fig 8 tracks!!!

So Codemasters updated the GIRD 1 derby fig8 track ( had 2 versions ) and release it as a free DLC a few months after GRID 2 got release.

Keep in mind, this race was done with a pretty much brand new Jupiter. Not a 3000 mile toughen Jupiter I use for 3 years online when GRID 1 online server was still up.

Yes! Lots of good laughs on that mode! Hope they consider it being its trying to be the original!

While it's nice to have a variety of modes - provided they're all done well. In GRID 1 Demolition Derby was practically a tech demo for the game's destruction mechanics, with only 1 car and 1 track.

These days they not only have to compete with even more straight racing titles but also the likes of Wreckfest, which is going to make any sideshow derby mode Codemaster's scrounge together look poor.

If they can commit development time and resources to a non-racing mode it should be what made the original game really stand out (and still stands up), freestyle drifting and drift battles. :)
