GRID 3 or GRID reBoot?

I never understood the desire to take an old game name, and just make a sequel, but name it the same as the first. Like... HITMAN... yeah, uh... whyyyyyyy.

So is this GRID 3 then?

This is actually the 4th GRID game. The first one was the most successful. So maybe they chose to call it just that to make it sound more "attractive" if that makes sense. Like going back to their roots.

This genre has lost so much of its imagination and drive (pun intended) that now devs are even so lazy they don't even bother with a new title xD GRID 2 will remain as my fav in the series.

I wonder how is it called in the Steam Library. People that have both old GRID and new GRID in their Steam Library can be confused. Or maybe the new GRID is called GRID®? Am I right?

Same thing with titles like Thief. Old game (1998) is called "Thief Gold" in my Steam Library, while new one (2004) is called just "Thief".

I have both GRIDs and the new one is marked as GRID 2019

It's really just annoying and makes finding information on the version you're looking for that much harder.

I think I'll just call GRID 1(2) TOCA 7 as technically GRID 1 was TOCA 4.

yes, it is a bad trend. Need for Speed also had this in 2015. Now, the Mafia series is on the line. You know, after last game, they found a "good" reason to reBoot the franchise.

Anyway, the best reboot i have ever witnessed was the film "Batman" from 1989. It was such a HUGE success and hit that nearly everyone wanted to reBoot their own franchise after sometime just for the sake of it. Codemasters was not an exception too. xD
