it's something related to game + dx12. it's not one or other. at least that's what i think. My updates are still running .. forgot how much i hate windows updates. my firewall already popped up 3 alerts that windows is trying to connect some weird programs somewhere ... no idea what they are, but they all got denied. I just hate it when programs install some useless garbage that nobody ever uses or needs. now it's also installing graphics drivers for some built-in intel graphics ... All this just to try and fix dx12 .. what a load of bollocks.
Updated nvidia drivers
updated windows (which i never done before)
verified files of GRID via steam (it said some files were missing and it also installed "Steamworks common redistributables" for some reason)
None of this works for me and in windows I do not have anything under "add a feature". So i can't even try to force it into dx11.
however my issue remains, in contact with support now.
as I said, it's a struggle. I have dx11 on windows xp, but it's pain to get anything working, you get 100 error messages before something works. Basically you can get dx12 on win xp too, but it requires lot of work as microsoft doesn't provide native support for it. They do it on purpose to kill out the old windows versions.
They gave too much control to users with win xp, so now they trying to take it away with win 10, I mean win 10 requires SIGNED DRIVERS, which means companies who want to have their own drivers, must pay lot of money to microsoft to have their driver signed .. it's all about $$$$$ and who else knows $$$$$ better than microsoft? they're all about greed and control.
Shouldn't be a problem for a developer to let it run in dx11.1 but we're talking about Codemasters.
From what I have gathered so far it's a pale reboot of a classic nothing new or exceptional at all.Shame it wasn't produced with the attention to detail it deserved.
