Does any online servers works atm? I've seen on the internet, that I need to do something with ports etc. but didn't help. Bought the game after years and I hoped to remind my childhood... Is this game totally dead?

you need to search in the Internet for Multiplayer servers, other than that it wont work in the in game Multi.

Fortunately, yes. Only the GameSpy support has ended. However, with this support gone, you will see an empty server list in your game. Bear in mind, this doesn't affect hosting dedicated servers and connecting to them directly.
Or switch system to use a alternative master server what works. You just have to redirect network queries meant for GameSpy to any active. This can be achieved by simply adding one line to your "hosts" file in system.

I would like to add one thing to see the online server after the hosts file has been edited, the game does not start over the Steam launcher, otherwise you will not see a server, but via the "C: \ Program Files (X86) \ Steam \ Steamapps \ Common \ hidden and dangerous 2 \ hd2_sabresquadron.exe "Creates a desktop icon in the game folder, and then as admin starts 100% everything is just tested again.
