Click on the H&D2 folder and you should see a registry string named key.
If you have this string, right click it, click Modify, and change your key.
The key should be 16 characters, but you can add up to 20 letters or numbers at the end of it (Where the X's are in the example) to make it more likely that you won't share the same key as somebody else. (0000-0000-0000-0000XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX)
Right click the empty white area under the (Default) and (LS3D_setup)
Hover over New > Click "String Value", name it "key" (no quotation, obviously ;p)
Right-click "key" Modify, add your key to value data.
This shouldn't be necessary unless you can't even start the game, if it tells you "Wrong CD key, please contact illusion softworks" Judging by your post, I'm sure you can already start the game, so this part of the reply is just in case anyone has this issue I had when I first tried to play the game.
