Couldn't get it to run / DirectPlay...?

It kept saying it had to install DirectPlay and then restart the PC but each time I tried that it kept prompting the same thing again in a loop and never would run. Got a refund but disappointed, would re-buy and try again if anyone else has seen this and knows how to get through it?

DirectPlay is legacy part of DirectX and by default it is not installed on Windows 7 and newer. In case compatibility layer doesn't catch this case, then you'll have to install it manually:
Control Panels->Programs and features->Turn Windows features on or off->Legacy components->DirectPlay
Unless there is another problem/bug, it should fix it.

Thanks for the reply but it was posted after I got my refund at that time so I never tried it. However, I just re-bought the game on sale to try again with this fix - but it didn't work as the Legacy Components / Directplay wouldn't stay selected.
I did a bit of googling though and found this thread and at the bottom of the first page is a fix to make this work, something about the 1709 "Fall Creators Update" update that stopped this working as well as all Wndows updates since then (I was wondering why none were coming...).
Anyway, just in case anyone else has the same problem.
