If you look down through the user reviews, you're going to see a lot of people saying the game is good, and a lot of people saying the game sucks. So is the game good or not? The answer is that the game is good, but ultimately not everyone will appreciate the kind of game it is.

BBTag is simplified compared to other anime fighters in a few ways: the controls are easier, there are fewer attack buttons and character movesets are not as complicated. Instead, the focus of the game is purely on the team mechanics. Many people are turned off by how their favourite characters have been simplified, which is understandable, but you have to remember: you're not just controlling two characters, you're controlling a team. You may not have all the old moves you used to have, but instead you have a partner, and two characters many strategic possibilities open up. As someone who used to play MvC3 and has over >1300 hours in Skullgirls, BBTag has probably the most interesting team mechanics of any Tag game I've ever played. The first thing that caught my attention was just the simple fact that you have access to three assists simultaneously, which is incredibly fun. On top of that, the assist gauge, active switch and cross combo give the game considerable depth while also being highly flashy to watch. Overall, you should give BBTag a try if:
-You like team games
-You enjoy figuring out cool strategies and crafting your own playstyle
-You're new to fighting games and want something easier to get into
-You like the characters

However, you might not like the game if:
-You don't like team games
-You prefer having complicated character mechanics to master
-You're prefer the CF/Unist/P4A versions of characters and don't like the BBTag versions
