Does anyone think "Marvelous" for Crash Assault is random?
for some reason, i usually do perfect Marvelous in the right spot, but also triggers "good" when i pressed EXACTLY the same right spot.

No but I believe if you miss it too late you'll get Good but too early gives Excellent. (Though not 100% sure, I think that's what I heard). And ofcourse anything even earlier will give Good.

It's not random. trying it with different chars for a few hours just made me focus more on the 'Crash' icon and it's sound, and started ignoring the characters height, angle and trajectory.
The timing is 100% timed to the icon. (else I'm just lucky?)
Some chars are bigger, sone launches higher.. some looks like they start falling down faster. Just focus on the icon and it's (also sound) timing..

..only to have to get as used to a one player 'Crash' that have a different view and timing, and that one actually seems to have a shorter timing-window, and/or a different hight of the launch (?) or it might just be that it's a different view and they are not as common, nor as rewarding in damage.

'good' and 'excellent' can happen on both sides on early/late, and that's why it's so hard to notice where to aim.
Do the tactical missions for 2 and 1 player 'Crash'
It's horrible mindnumbingly boring grinding, but that's when one gets a feeling for where it is and what to focus on.

Offline I get it 95% of the time.. online ..I get nervous and miss everything anyway.. while being poked to death. :angrymummy::nidhoggoengarde:

Its probably not random online, rather its the delay netcode thats messing with you. Since they use variable delay netcode, 1 second you could have 2 frames of delay, then in the next second, it could shoot up to 3-4 frames and thats enough to throw off the timing of getting a marvellous.

You need to press the button right in time, that's it, the character needs to be falling through the circle by the time the button is pressed, so to successfully do it, you press it a little before, when the character starts to fall, depends on each person reflexes and input delay, to match the press with the character being inside the circle.

I preffer doing Good by pressing the C button as fast as possible, this gives me more time to chase after the opponent in midscreen, or to do a safe jump in the corner.

someone correct me if i am wrong, but arent you unable to move until enemy hits the ground, no matter how early or late you press button ? cause i see no reason why bad timing would give you faster recovery from a move

No, you are unable to move for a fixed amount of tme. If you press C as soon as possible, you'll have enough time to recover and do a safe jump.
