The ironic thing is when they finally did add arcade mode to SFV, after the first week or two no one played it. For the most part at this point arcade mode is only played to get the monthly bonus title.
When it comes to other fighting games it is the same thing with arcade mode. At this point most arcade modes for fighting games simply ends with a "THANK YOU FOR PLAYING" screen or credits. Some still have a little story cutscene at the end but most have moved away from that and keeps all the story stuff in story mode.
I hate the survival mode in any games, I do not have a lot of free time for this
Yes, but in story mode I am obligated to play with specific characters, I do not have the possibility to choose my characters. In Arcade Mode I have the possibility to choose my character freely.
I demand an aswer from Arc System Works!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Play vs.Cpu or Survival.
Well one can always just go to VS mode and set the AI on random.
If a mode was to be added I rather Arcsys put in something like Abyss. At least there is more to it than just fighting random AI which could be done in VS mode.
For single player, it has Story mode, Training mode, V.S. Mode, Tactics Mode (Tutorial + Missions) and Survival Mode (like Abyss Mode but more basic).
To be fair, you cannot possibly know whether people played arcade mode or not in SFV, but it does have a big problem and is that it's basically a waste of time because it doesn't give you any XP or Fight Money so you'd always ask yourself why aren't you playing any other mode instead since you're not making any actual progress while playing arcade mode. That kind of implementation in a game so heavily reliant on in-game currency sucks.
A few people do but majority of the people that play SFV and fighting games do so online. Modes like arcade and time attack(have not seen this one in awhile) do not really hold replay value. Thing is once a person gets endings(if any) or get unlocks(if any) there is not much reason to play arcade.
It gets to the point of why play arcade mode when I can just play VS CPU. I have the option of picking random CPU or picking the CPU I want to fight. I would also have the option of picking stages that I want fight on and picking music that I want to listen to.
I don't know how much of an outlier I am, but I personally don't enjoy playing online at all. For me, I either play a bunch of arcade mode or play locally with my friends. Due to a lack of arcade mode I will not be getting this one.
