Any plan on suing voodoo.io?
They stole the game concept from Donut Country prior to launch, any plans to bring legal action against them and get hole.io removed from app stores?

They don't seem to be suing voodo.io, but I wish they would. If you look up "donut county ripoff" you'll find more discusions about it

To be fair that Voodoo game only shares the same base game mechanic with Donut County. They both feel very different when you play them, only they both have holes that swallow stuff up to grow. Voodoo's is action-based and multiplayer, whereas Donut is story-driven and has a lot more charm to it.

Voodoo steals all their game ideas though, all their games are clones, so I'm not trying to defend their practice.

The problem is that *concepts* in and of themselves are not protected by patent, copyright, nor trademark, so infringing has to take pretty specific forms for it to be actionable.

Voodoo is claiming that this is a subgenre just like match3 is, and look all the match3 games out there. I don't know anything about Voodoo, but *legally* they may be correct; it would take an actual (expensive) court action to decide for sure. Their legal theory claim is not at all ridiculous on the face of it.

*Morally* is a different question, so people can decide for themselves whether to boycott cloners like Voodoo.

P.S. For the record, I own Donut County and do not currently own a Voodoo game -- I'm just trying to shed some light on the legal issues.

Does whoever invented video games have any plans to sue Ben Esposito for making a video game?

I wish people would go after Voodoo. They're a garbage company that produces garbage adware-ridden ripoff games.

I started a petition to ban Voodoo from the App store, if anyone wants to sign. http://chng.it/kvwt4NDy

Fancade uses a minigame(the game is basically a mini-game-collection) that is VERY similar to Donut County guess we should boycott that too.
