Should i wait for winter?

i'm on second island i already destroyed the portal on the dock and put the lighthouse in it the economy is great and i'm all expanded but in 5 days winter is coming should i wait there for it or go straight for the 3 island?

I would wait. Five days is not long enough to build up your defences, economy, etc. before winter, and if you're taking so long, presumably you're destroying all the portals, so the enemy waves will be non-trivial.

ye i usually stay and destroy all the portal i can before going on, and yes i will wait for the winter you are right in 5 days they will just crush me. thx for the advice!

yes, wait. it will make the game smoother for you.

HOWEVER, if you are trying to complete the game in one reign (which is not the expected gameplay mode, and is a real challenge), and you are destroying all the small/dock portals as you go, you should be on at least island 3 by the time 1st winter hits, preferably island 4, or else the end game will be way too hard.

also, if you have a full boat and a full wallet, you can leave mid-winter and very likely survive, as long as you get a farmer or two first thing (even before upgrading walls) and start gathering berries.

If you're going for a one-reign playthrough, honestly, this run is in a bad place. If you're not, then you'd be better off taking your time and then having a strong income with which to lay foundations for your heir on the third island, instead of sailing now and risking getting annihilated and accomplishing nothing.

Bring them. They're useless to you on the second island, and when your heir gets there, they'll have no trouble replacing them with the infrastructure already there.
