*video* Bakery attracts villagers??
I play on iPhone so I updated the video to YouTube:
https://youtu.be/1p3EHFH1i00

This filmed the jogging only.

I accidentally built two bakeries on one island, one is far across the forest, one is near the center but not “by” the center. Both of them are outside the border. (Actually I don’t build border once a island is completely safe, no portals and portal in cave.)

Although there is no bread at all, villagers (hired but without item on their hands) keep running between the center, the near bakery and the far bakery. I mean, keep running back and forth. That leave the center, run to the near bakery, stand there for a while, then run to the far bakery, stand there for a while, then run back to the near bakery, then run bake to the center.

It became a stream that the villagers gather the coins on the ground (from animals hit by archer towers outside the border), and when I stand in any point of the stream, villagers with extra coins will drop coins when they pass me.

This is very cool. But why do bakeries with no bread attack villagers?? What do they run for? Are they just enjoying jogging?

all shop-like things, including berserker, farm-shoveler, shield-upgrade, sword-upgrade, all attract hired citizens without tools, even when empty.
they will generally walk SLOWLY to one shop, wait a bit, then walk to another.
once you buy an item, they will RUN to that item (this works the same if the item was instead dropped by a citizen). all nearby citizens will target even a single item.

this is how they get spread out over a useful area, and are likely around if you want to hire one.

Thank you, but I am pretty sure all shops including bakery itself are empty, and they RUN, not WALK, but absolutely run for nothing. Please check the new video on the top of this post.

oh they DO run between shops, then amble around.
imo, this isnt a bad problem, as there is no reason to put a bakery far from camp, but its definitely an unexpected and potentially really unpleasant behavior.

hired villagers shouldnt be attracted to any shop hosting items they cant carry, like swords, berserker potions, and bread.

Yeah, so I wonder if there is any cultural meaning that villagers run for empty bakery lol

Also, it’s annoying on the screen, but it’s also convenient to have coins flow to me automatically. Kind of hard to decide if I should build bakeries by the cave and the dock in order to make villagers collect coins and bring to me lol

Since the villagers run faster than the hunting and farming citizens, they might catch the coins the producers produced first (before the producers go to collect the coins), so the coins stored in villagers instead of the farmers and hunters and pikemen/ninja, and then I don’t need to travel around to get coins. It’s just, to build a stream really automatically bring coins to me quickly, I need many many villagers running, and it’s, annoying to see. Lol
