After sailing to another island difficulty stays

So after getting iron and destroying mountain portal on island 1 i went to second island and got overrun at night 1, is this how it's supposed to work? Am i the only person, who has this problem?

When you first come to a new island, there won't be many greeds attacking you the first few days. (Someone explained it's because they didn't yet really realise you are here)
But if you go back to an island you already were on, then the difficulty will be the same, based on what day it is.

Days are accumulated across islands. To get to Iron you need to unlock the Iron Mine on Island 4. The days you took to get from Island 1 to Island 4 adds up, so when you return back to Island 1 on Day 500, it's wayyyyy more difficult than Island 5 on Day 50.

i would just suggest storing your coins in your bank and just lose your crown. that way all islands are reset to 0, but you do have to unlock all the hermits and mounts and stuff with coins. but not iron and stone tec. (actualy this is all theretical, im not completly sure this resets the time)

Well, it's the challenge of this game. It's not supposed to be easy first time playing and it's not easy at all to finish without losing your crown at least once in the process.

Well yes, it's how it's supposed to be. The game actually has an achievement for clearing all 5 islands in a single reign, and is has a 2.6% completion rate :-) it really takes some skill and strategy. You can just lose your crown to reset difficulty, the heir will have to unlock mounts, hermits and altars, but now with coins. But it's really not a problem. All 2 crucial objects (the archer altar and the gryphon) are located on the 1st island, and actually even if you got killed on 5th island, the unlock run through all other islands takes maybe 10-12 days max (supposing you've build lighthouses everywhere and have a ready-to-go economics to get coins fast).
