If you're not on the last island, you back off and let it send out the wave of Greed. If you are on the last island, get some extra knights and slingers and order an attack on the damaged coil in the water. That will stun the snake and allow you to attack its head. Remember folks, there is a ghostly oracle you can consult if ever in doubt!

it's work. But in the end, I still couldn't save the puppy.

yeah my only complain was once the puppy get stolen you can't get it back even when you destropy all portals and clear game it seems to be an oversight bug

Find the gem banker by the donkey mount. You can purchase stolen gems, hermits and the puppy back from him. It's expensive, so if you've lost a few items, I suggest you get some farms up and running there if you haven't already.
