with berries and the boar, you can almost ignore winter and still conquer an island, it just adds a little extra challenge.
if you move relatively quickly, you can get to island 5 a few days before winter starts, and then build up and fortify there, and winter will probably be over before you clear the small portals.
honestly, if you find yourself waiting out winter, those 15 days will make your endgame ultimately much harder.
hahahaha, very insightful and scathing rebuff.....except that there TOTALLY IS an option to disable enemies (peaceful), and it has an intended audience who appreciates it.
while i also think disabling winter would ruin the game, i would like to point out that complaining about a facet of the game being boring is different than complaining about it being hard.
i am still of the opinion that winter is only boring if you play extremely conservatively. the income-generating new features (bushes, boar, fishing) make it so that you don't need to just wait, and you certainly dont need to 'stack your coffers' or whatever.
i think the OP's complaint is valid, as the game almost encourages waiting. the devs should stop suggesting a play style that treats winter in K2C the same as winter in NL (where there was no income whatsoever), because it is a fundamentally different experience.
in peaceful mode, zero enemies spawn, until and unless you attack a portal. the point is for people who like the vibes, but not the stress. (i am not such a person, i believe the stress of kingdom is it's greatest value, but i also love the vibes and want those people to enjoy the vibes as well)
