Stuck Without Money

I just got to the second island with a massive group of a ton of archers and a few squires plus some workmen. I don't have any coins and no bunnies are spawning for the hunters and they can't get to the deer. Any tips?

1. Have you arrived there with no coins in purse?
   
2. Have you cleared trees to help in hunting?
   
3. Have you scouted the land up to the cliff and to the dock portal? (The 2nd island has 2 coin chests, unless you've already collected them.)

lumbering trees shoud help, you invest 1 coin to maybe get 2.
also: "no bunnys spawning" that mean you have no clear areas for bunnygras or it is winter, or a bug

I am in the same situation on third island. My main building is surrounded by large forests on both sides, archers catch nothing because no deer span in the forests. Purse is completely empty after buying bows. I already took the 1 chest.

I cannot chop trees, cause it takes a buck to make a buck. There is no way to make any money.

EDIT: Exiting the game and reloading the save did not help. I am not sure whether it's a bug that there are no deer in the forest or whether it is a feature of the third island, but that save is lost I guess.
