Way to hold down to build boat, rather than needing pressing it over and over?
I can't seem to find anyone asking about this elsewhere, but is there a less tedious way to build the boat instead of constantly needing to press down repeatedly? Like, a mod that makes it so holding down will constantly fill in the two coins needed without releasing down, or if there's some accessibility option I've somehow missed.

One of my biggest complaints with the game is just how tedious the boat gets later on, where having to just sit there and press down, hold for about 3/4ths of a second, then release, and repeat, is extremely tedious. I know the boat takes a lot of money, so I don't mind having to run around and get the funds for it, but the "press down, release, press down, release, press down, release" gets both mentally exahusting after a few islands, as well as physically painful for my fingers since every other thing that requires a lot of money lets you hold down the button, or has a fairly small cap like buying 4 scythes in one go or filling up a Norse Lands shield barracks.

Or if this isn't something anyone has considered somehow, and the developers are willing to make an option, why not make it so that holding down for more than X seconds will instantly dump all possible coins into the project. So if you have 21 coins, holding down will spend 20 coins to instantly gain the next 10 boat parts, leaving you with 1 coin since it can't buy another part?

Yes that's what I mean, they typically will make changes once a game is released but won't make further changes after the first update or so to the release unless they add a new DLC. Like Sapador said the change with the archers happened when Norse was released. We don't know what the future holds but it's highly unlikely they will step back European, Shogun and DeadLands setting and change the boat. It's been out so long now, it really wouldn't make sense. Especially with no one really complaining about it.

After a time though the developers are probably not likely to make changes to K2C
except they have said in the forums and elsewhere, several times, and quite recently, that they ARE making changes to K2C.
they are, in fact, releasing a large update soon that will include Call Of Olympus. every large update has seen numerous fixes+improvements, QoL adjustments, and sometimes several major game-mechanics tweak.

I don't doubt that they will make changes to the Greek DLC once it's released, but you probably won't see changes to the boat at this point from a game released originally in 2018.
In fact when you look at the patch logs on wiki, it shows the last major update where they changed and shifted things was with Norse Lands, other than adding the new Lost Islands challenge, most of the changes after that were bug fixes and pictorial fixes, nothing more. They will add the new DLC and keep the other settings the same. OP shouldn't get their hopes up the developers will do what makes sense.

even this is false. they made many QOL improvement updates without DLCs. it's been awhile since any updates for K2C, which is unusual, but there's an obvious explanation for that: Kingdom80s. K80s is much more like a DLC than a new game, and it is obviously a branch of a common codebase with K2C. i expect this new DLC coming out to merge some of the improvements and changes upstream (like the menu+config changes), as well as some new gameplay tweaks. i would be surprised if this was not the case, given the evidence before it.

LOL, you are so adamant about what will and won't happen, when you have been given CLEAR evidence that similar gameplay mechanics changes have happened, ESPECIALLY when a new DLC is on the horizon. you are even citing this evidence yourself, lost islands received like 3 separate patch updates and was not a DLC, and it brought several unrelated changes. maybe listen to what literally everybody on this thread is telling you.

now, it's not super likely that any particular feature request will be answered, and this one is a bit harder than some, but if no one makes it and no one talks about it, then its CERTAIN that it won't be. folks complained about the banker off and on for YEARS, then they finally fixed it, and confirmed it was (sapador's i think?) suggestion from a forum thread that they implemented.

maybe stop telling people their feedback is useless, because it very well may not be.

It's funny how you go back and forth, from they could do this but it's rare they didn't already. They might fix the boat from K2C but hmmm they haven't yet lol! It's rare and not likely but possible. Never said the idea was useless just unlikely. The original boat design was suppose to be tedious, else they would of fixed it already. They could of if they wanted. They more than likely will take complaints about everything into consideration for the new DLC, but more than likely will keep KTC itself vanilla.
Personally rather than a automated system, the holding down coins sounds great. Where you keep holding the button until the coins are gone instead of pressing and releasing.
listen, i'm sorry to be so argumentative about this, and i dont want to offend you or anyone else. i see that you have good intentions here, and have thought about this intelligently, and i think you are not trying to cause any trouble...
but i personally think you actually are just causing trouble. please stop saying its unrealistic, because you have nothing to base your claim on.

It's unrealistic seeing how the risk of breaking stuff is pretty great but who knows, then literally updating every platform with fixing something that doesn't affect gameplay
it is not unrealistic, and in fact very similar changes have happened multiple times.
you may think the OP is naively optimistic, and that you are knowingly pessimistic and are trying to lower expectations to meet reality....but in fact, you are simply wrong.

Postat inițial de Corvid79:
then literally updating every platform with fixing something that doesn't affect gameplay
you are just describing a normal release. this same procedure that happens with every major release, and with every point release, and every hotfix patch..
i agree that they probably would not do a release just to tweak the boat payment system, but including it in a QOL patch after olympus is very plausible.

they may decide this feature has too high a devel cost to write, or too high a QA cost to offset risk, or too few people requesting it, etc, to be worth doing. then again, they've done more with just as little prompting. it is not, in fact, unrealistic.

I agree ☺️ we can agree to disagree and you are right, it cost nothing for OP to make suggestions. We are all Kingdom fans and that's what is important. I hope you have a good day ❤️

all the biomes, including the DLC biomes, share a common codebase. fixes that were motivated by and targeted norselands hit every biome. each biome has a handful of variables, but they are all basically the same game, and obviously share most of their code.
i would predict, looking at the game, that all major features in all biomes are in the same src dir, and that each biome sets a handful of variables and a few asset dirs.
=> adding a tweak to the boat payment system that affected just call of olympus would very probably be harder than fixing it everywhere.
