Dunno how to choose Monarch for Kingdoms Two Crowns Dead Lands DLC?

For the life of me, can't figure out how to choose Monarch. There is supposedly a few of them but just keep getting the default queen. When I play normal two kingdoms, can click down on the loading screen then get to choose a monarch. But for some reason I can't do this with the Kingdoms Two Crown Dead Lands DLC? What am I doing wrong? Want to play this DLC specifically because it has unique Monarchs but can't at all choose any aside from the default.

you have to unlock them as you play. In Dead Lands they will be in cages you must free them from you will always start with the same monarch.

Ah Gotcha! So it works differently in Dead Lands. Cool so can just carry on with the defaul and unlock the different Monarchs in one game, actually very cool

Yep :) and it is really cool to unlock the new ones :) they all have different abilities too so enjoy. Come back and let us know which one was your favourite once you've found them. I personally just love turning into a bat.
