What does the gem chest next to the boat do?

Its been a while since ive played.

That where u store gems *day&night..

"the gem keeper" is around daytime,,
he will store all the gem u might deposit to him, in that chest
pay him a coin and get 1 gem back....

and the same gem keeper,, will keep all those stored gems with him - on all else Island aswell

i do not remember ,, but i think u need to upgrade your castle to some size'
before he apairs
