NorseLand: Why cannot send expeditions ?

I really have trouble understanding some of Norse Land mechanics.
Kingdom always relied on a simple contract: no explanation but simple, discover-able mechanics

With Norse land, those mechanics clearly stepped up, but still there's 0 explanation.
So here it is: I bought 4 knights, and I am only allowed to attack the greed on one side.

I do not understand why.
On the side I can attack, my flag has 2 colors, yellow and black
On the other side, they are only black.

So why is that ?

need more shielded archers maybe ?

You mean they will recruit only shielded archers now ?
Is using the totem enough or do I have to build a shop ?

useing totem alot and they willl lose shield pretty fast

build out u wall a bit and get a building that craft shields
then coin the slot and shield up u men :D

*and should u have building only at one side,,
they on other side will come over,, if there be plenty

*workers are also happy with they shield and act upon defence

So the totem and the shop have the same effect, but temporarily ?
Do shielded archers continue to hunt ?
