How do you deal with the mobs on the 4th island in K2C Norse Lands?

So Island 3 was pretty tedious in winter having to constantly repair walls on both sides even with tier 4 walls, axe/soldier guys, berserkers, max tier tower at this point and an archer line so long that the last few cant even shoot.
Survived winter and went to the 4th island. I'm basically stuck there since the mobs are so numerous, have so much HP and my archers dealt so little damage that I just cant build up.
I have the hammer with the thunder strikes but it's not enough, I used the cat chariot to traverse faster in winter since I needed constant rebuilds on island 3 so I don't have the fire horse thing.
I genuinely don't know what to do except losing this island and check back if I missed anything on island 1 that might help me.
Was anyone successful in a run yet? What tactic did you use? Are there specific mounts or hermits that give you a huge advantage?

island 1 > island 2 > island 1 > island 3 >island 4 > island 5
island 1, build up the base, build the boat and move on to the next island as soon as you can
first night, just build the camp, recruit the 2 and buy 2 bows, you should still have 3 left in the starting bag
then run to the end of the map, see whats there and collect any chests, toss a (1) coin if you pass a camp and keep going, collecting any coin chests you find, once you reach the end, head back and use those coin to hire any more you pass on the way
hire any you see and leave a coin on the ground of each camp, (it should spawn a new one to collect the coin before the greed come out)
build up the walls and hire more archers and a builder, wait for night if its not already begun
day 2, run out to the far end of the other side and repeat
when you have everything to collect and you now know where the camps are, so hire from the ones you can get to easy and keep building up
get 4 builders total and then hire archers with the rest while you get your castle build up as far as you can
don't expand out, just trim back the trees and let your archers hunt in the open plains
*once your ready, wait till the greed wave is ended against the walls and run for the boat to get it built and more on (i usually manage to have this all done by day 6)
island 2, (8 gems) get the forester and baker, save the other 4 gems and head to the next island once your camp is maxed, don't try to build up to much, just max out the keep and get the space open for hunting
return to island 1, when you arrive, pay for the boat so your builders start building it straight away then go get the archer statue, run to the keep to upgrade it (and grab the horn hermit if you wish or save the last gem for the next island) then head back to the boat and move on to island 3
island 3 (8 more gems) build up and run to the far side of the map like before, find all the good stuff, etc and prep, maybe build a farm if you get a good placement for one
you can get the fire horse, the archer hermit and the builder shrine on this map for 3 gems each, so if you saved that last gem, get all 3 with the 8 on this island, if not, leave the builder shrine and get the others instead, and grab the thunder hammer
other wise, (if you got the horn hermit) build up 1 side of the keep till you can build the horn and each night, sound it so all your units are on one side, then run out and meet the greed wave on the other side (fire horse, blanket the ground with fire and the greed will all burn before they ever reach the wall) and use the hammer on the rest
once you clear the wave, run back to the other wall and use the hammer if the greed aren't finished by then
repeat the process from the previous islands, build up and then move on to island 4
on island 4, repeat again and collect the farmer shrine and prepare the land
get ready to move on but once your ready, check the total day count, if its close to winter (6 or less days to go, think about if you want to risk island 5 or wait it out and build up island 4 more and wait winter out) (winter is days 48 to 64, 16 days per season)
if your got a good 6+ days before winter starts, keep going and repeat again, hire some farmer but don't waste time with farms, just keep nice open areas for the berry bushes to spawn once winter starts and fund your long winter with the previous plans and hopefully you'll manage
island 5 is the island you get the iron wood upgrade to max level everything so its the first island you can clear properly, just clear the path to the cliff and take the bomb in
then enjoy waiting out winter safe from the greed

Currently on island 4 again, your advice was great help, got the flame horse and this weird tower hermit. Lost my crown once due to my own mistake but everything seems to work fine as long as I keep 2-3 berserkers or whatever those are called on each side

if you got the fire towers burning the bulk of the greed swarm away, the beserkers usually deal with the crabs and the rest die to arrows
