Suicide Knight Statue
Has anything been done in the new updates to fix or change the knights all jumping to their death "suicide knights" when unlocking the knight statue?

Have you tried the beta patch? Check sticky post.

There is no change to the statue itself and the ability it provides in the upcoming patch (that'll be out very soon!). We have loads of improvements going on in this specific patch, but any major changes to how the knight statue works are planned for another update in the future. :)

Glad to hear. Not a fan of the late game stuff (horn hermit, knight tower hermit, knight statue) Might be nice to have knight statue do something less extreme but more beneficial like an armor buff.

I also think it could be cool if you could upgrade archer armor like you can with knights.

I love the "No, we aren't fixing this bad feature" responses
Honestly the knight statue is the worst statue in the game. If it only made knights charge attack during squad attacks, then it would be better, but in it's current state this is a PERMANENT (meaning if you don't know what it is, obtain it, and don't like it, YOU CAN NEVER GO BACK) "upgrade" that results in your knights literally jumping to their death during the nighttime sequence.

I like the concept and idea of it, but this is pretty much a "game over" statue. Once you activate it, then all of your knights will constantly suicide with no ability to do anything about it. Not a good design choice at all.

This was useful in New Lands, where ALL statues had a temporary buf. You could activate it before an assault to portals, for one day only. Even if the retaliation wave came from the same side, which meant you'd probably lose those knights when defending against that wave, the costs of knights in New Lands is much cheaper. You could easily hire them again the day after, when the statue effect had ceased.

This show us how game design is complex. When you change ONE thing, the amount of other mechanics it can affect is incredible. I'm very curious to see what the change will be. Devs have been very creative in all Two Crowns new features.

That wasn’t the response, it is being fixed, just not in this update, but in an upcoming update.

This is great news. Thank you.

So many neat things to do. If you want to keep the same concept of giving the knights a siege defensive attack, maybe give them lances at night?

So no one here found out that you have to fill the knight's pockets with coins, and they will be fine! The statue is great, it makes the otherwise inactive knights actually do something. Fill their pockets or they will die fast.

I think most people know this. It does help early in the game when the waves are small, but late game, when the statue is even able to be unlocked, it wont work.

Day 100+, bloodmoon attack, they will jump out with their pockets filled. They will lose 1-5 coins on the way back. Sometimes even with full coins they don't make it back. Lets say you have an overflowing bag of coins and 2-4 knights on that side. You will be madly dropping coins to try to fill their pockets again before they do another jump. Since these attacks are very long, they will do the jump many times and you will run out of coins before the bloodmoon is over.

It is a nice idea, but now the "Suicide Knight Statue" has cost you all of your knights AND a full bag of coins.

I don't think the developers would admit to actively working on a change, if coins in the pocket was the solution. 10 seconds of invulnerability after a jump would work. Having the jump only trigger when you use the "Invulnerability Horse" power would work. Giving them a lance, so they can attack without jumping, would work.

Sure they will probably die during the blood moon night. It's supposed to be bad. Better not to use all your coins fighting that. Other times the knights slaughter a lot of greed each night. If you don't use the knights to defend and only use them for attacking gates, then it is better to hire them just before you plan to launch an attack. With the statue again, they will easily destroy them. Waste of their ability though.

It's a shame if the devs keep making the game easier. The unforgiving nature of the game has won my heart.
