Is there a better mount than the deer?

I mean I can easily get like 12 gold going into the forest. I got the stupid cow bird and it didn't do anything but eat mice in the forest... the armored horse is absolutely awful! Like 50% speed with an armor buff? I need pure speed baybee! Maybe a mount that can kill deer or something would be great but so far it's all pretty bad.

Griffin is the best for me, his special attack works for me.

you can get a bear that can kill deer but he kinda sucks for anything else

The griffin being able to refill stamina anywhere any season makes it a much better choice than the Stag IMHO

I'm loving the salamander myself. Able to solo a blood moon attack with proper hit-and-run tactics.

Griffin pretty much beats most mounts because it essentially has infinite stamina in all seasons when Winter makes pretty much all the other mounts go at a snail's pace.
There might be an argument for the salamander, but otherwise? Griffin.
