Ah, yes... The "One Thousand Ninja Bug" from the streamer Aavak!
2 coins for a ninja was good, but the forest was gone. About ten ninjas hold the wall from the greed and more came, because the other player kept buying bows and not saying anything why they didn't appear...
It seemed at first the ninjas respawn, then they kept coming and coming and Aavak asks if his partner creates ninjas and she says no :P
Not saying more about the bows, that don't appear or anything.
Oh thank you for the info, it's a change then since ruins were disapearing in previous games
- Indefinite islands (sandbox mode) Which will increase the gameplay, and also different land zone. Pregenerated maps. (Tundra region, Swamp, marsh, hills, plains, etc)
- Unit upgrade, can upgrade unit to be stronger and look stronger, make knights and samurai look like the actual unit instead of cloth.
- More buildins, like gate wall, Different farms such as hops and rice, Balista tower / Fire arrow tower, Taverns, and gold mines. (Etc)
- Smarter AI when it turns midnight, (Farmer should go back to castles) , Also able to pick up their weapon when dropped.
- Japanese themed music for Japan.
- More units, such as muskets, halberd, Spear, glaive, long bowmen, mace, nodachi, Kanabo, etc
(shield unit please)
- More enemy types, and remove weapon breakage. (Spitters, Fast flyers, shielded Greed, etc)
- Shrines and temples, which can increase unit moral/speed/defence/attack or help villagers in farming/hunting/or building.
- Incorperate village inside camp when the camp is largly expanded, making it like a village. (Can become a true king or queen of people) (Also add village people and kids) :D
- Sieging greed lands, when the player is advanced in the stages of the game.
More ideas coming later, feel free to expand the good idea to increase longer playtime.
It's not just ths survival aspect, its the fact that the player has little to do save run back and forth on the map. Hopefully adding something like snow bunnies or such for winter food would help. Or at least add some foxes to jump and run around and be generally entertaining whilst waiting for winter to end.
I'm *ecstatic* that Winter and hermits are top of the list. If I could pick two things that need major attention, it would be those two. I'm sure I'm pretty typical as a player in that regard so congratulations for listening to the player feedback there. My first playthrough was ruined by the new suicidal hermit AI and currently I'm in a grindy, boring holding pattern waiting for winter to be over. In New Lands, winter was a looming threat, forcing you to have your ducks in a row before your income dried up. Now that the seasons follow you from island to island, it's a huge pain in the ass that just prevents you from moving on. If there were some high-investment/moderate return mechanic that was specific to Winter, we could at least plan accordingly and set up an early island as "Winter ready" and spend 16 days progressing in some fashion.
My only other complaint is the gems. They're big and dumb and they take up buckets of room. I started dumping them at the fire pit just so I could get my inventory space back. Maybe have them appear on the player character as bling and get spent at context specific nodes? I don't know. It's a flawed mechanism in an otherwise glorious testament to minimalist game design.
I just want this to kick ass. I love your games and I may be speaking out of turn but I hope the feedback keeps being received in good faith. I think most people wouldn't bother to point out these nitpicks if they weren't genuinely invested.
Onwards to victory.
One more thing, when I got the iron age, upgrading towers with a special eremit is horrible expensive.. guess it is better to get the eremit upgrade, even with iron age, after fourth tier like in Kingdom: New Lands. This is just not challenging, but annoying gameplay experience. Don't get me wrong, this is feedback on the high level, a challenging difficulty is great.
Masterpiece of a game you made here.
I have a small suggestion that will greatly enhance the experience without affecting gameplay or current units.
Active Sky Box:
- Starry night
- Shooting Stars
- Aurora Borealis in middle of winter
- Silhouette of distant birds leaving in fall/returning in spring
- Moon phases.
The sky is your canvas, i am excited to see how you paint it. Other then that, this game is the pinnacle of indie development.
Rock on Raw Fury <3
Ps - I admit that with the style of animation in the game it might be that there isn't much to be done unless it becomes grey or perhaps a very light cyan shade
First love the game. :)
Not sure when you're most active on the board but have started a thread about winter ideas I hope you can check out for ideas.
Also, are there plans to makeing different looking enemies? (Just some pallet swaps or model changes for the seasons etc... Purely just for a visiual fun update.)
Is the potential for modding a possability? Even if it's just for visual changes? (lol could easily see a game of thrones or lotr fan mod lol. ) Would like to know if it's possible.
I know you got to be super busy with the launch and the holidays but be sure to still take a day off here and there so enjoy it and not burn out.
Love the game and hope for the best for the community and the devs for future updates. :)
1. They wander back to base after cutting down trees.
2. They dont stand outside walls or in them during the night. They should be behind the archers/spearmen, ideally.
Thanks.
