What to do once you die?

I got overrun on the 4th map because it became winter on the 3rd day with no warning which is pretty dumb by itself but after that it sent me back to one of the previous islands but all the upgrades are diamond locked again and there is no new way of getting more diamonds again so am I pretty much screwed and need to start all over again from the first island?

It seems impossible to come back from getting overrun once.

The diamond locked upgrades should only cost coin after being unlocked the first time. And no, the diamonds don't respawn. You can live without them, but it will be harsh.

They reset to need diamonds again once you die apparently. It sends you back to the first island but now all the upgrades are missing and locked behind diamond cost again and theres no diamond chests.

Pretty much looks like I just need to restart the entire game because of stupid winter.

Odd the developers must have missed that, they said they were removing the rouge like part.

I'm sure I could probably continue and survive just barely but it would be no fun now theres no way at all for me to get the upgrades again or the hermits or mounts. I still have stone upgrade just the diamond cost ones are gone.

I would suggest mentioning that to them, I think it might have just been an oversite as I mentioned before.

This should be a bug. I die several times and everything i have unlocked with diamonds now only need coins.

Sounds like a bug indeed, I thought I'd read the dev say things bought with diamonds are bought once per campaign

That is a bug... diamond purchases are one time purchases.

On my game they don't. However the diamonds coffers do not respawn so if you "gave" diamons to the greed and did not came back to unlock things you are screwed.

I am playing on the Nintendo version, maybe its a bug specific to that version but it definitely put me back on the first island and the farm upgrade and mount was locked behind diamonds again after I had already bought them
