Kingdom Two Crowns

Kingdom Two Crowns

We want to hear YOUR biome ideas!
Hello Monarchs!

I hope that you all have been enjoying the Winter update. We took the time to really listen to what the community was saying and tried to implement a lot of ideas that spawned in forums across the internet.

Kingdom simply wouldn't be what it is today without the community and that's something we greatly appreciate and respect! Flowery words aside, it's time to inform you of my next plan! Since the beginning of Kingdom launch I have been compiling a list of ideas that you, the community, have come up with. I thought that rather than scouring the deepest darkest pits of internet forums, I could make it much easier on myself and ask you all here, personally! Perhaps there are some of you that have had brilliant ideas but you felt like voicing them was a waste of time, constantly unsure if the developers were actually watching or not.

NOW IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE!

Let me know what settings you would like to see the Kingdom monarchs in! You can be as vague or as detailed as you'd like! Do you want to visit the Greece? The Pyramids? Is there a meta-volcano mechanic? Special mounts? Blazons? I want to hear it ALL :)

I dont care as long as it isnt simply aesthetic. I would prefer it to add to the gameplay and add depth to the game.

Actually why not involve multi-layered levels? As in split paths?

You are in your village and pay enough coin to have workers strip away vines from a cliffside in the background to reveal hidden ruins that lead to a deep jungle where new foes and treasure await. Of course you can choose to simply ignore the foreboding ruins and continue into the forest.

Or an ascent that up a mountain path with other events such as possible avalanches or mini-boss fight with dragon at the peak of the summit?

Would like choice of more traps or defenses as well.
VIKINGS & ROMANS!!! that's nice :)
I wish Greek biome more than anything else. (=/= Rome).

With maybe mythological beast to fight on the map or in caves for rewards like artefacts or equipements with various effects for improving one knight/archer (just an idea. Don't necesseraly correspond to the actual concept of the game, but add another layer)

Or maybe something totally different, more SF, futuristic for both sides, kingdom and greeds .
An Aztec biome in the jungle would be pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cool
here goes:
Greece
I think it would be very cool to go to Greece, there could be Hoplites as knights, imagine the styles of the classic Greek temples integrated into the main castle and maybe the unique unit could be some sort of torch bearer who walks up to some archers (two or three at most) and "recruits" them like knights do but instead of protecting them he makes it so they can have fire arrows (for the cost of reload time) that set greed on fire. I think it would work like this: an archer will run up to the torch bearer and set two arrows on fire then they will fire those arrows (one at a time) and run up to the torch bearer again and relight two more arrows. If an arrows misses it will set that bit of ground on fire. Another idea for Greece is a new hermit that is like Archimedes who turns a tower into an array of mirrors that reflects light onto the ground and sets the ground on fire (because it is night this will take quite a while to "power up" before firing and it will sustain its beam of light for 3 or 4 secs and then it will start recharging again). Then there would be more a defensive theme of wearing the greed down over time where in the morning the mirror thing would have its full power and fire much quicker and more powerfully.
Then there could be a mount like a Pegasus from the old myth that can fly above greed if they get a bit to close and then get to the walls from the skies.

Rome
Having roman themed trees and especially knights and castles would look amazing! Imagine the classic tower shields that knights wield and maybe even spears as a new tool for people to throw! There could be a hermit that turns a tower into a mercenary hut or something where you can hire (not many and it would be costly) other unique units from different biomes like pikemen, ninja or torch bearers. As for a mount they could have a wolf mount that works just like the bear but faster and with more stamina but its attack isn't AoE or just isn't as powerful. If not a spear a unique tool could be like a centurion helmet that hires a bunch of civs (like 5 or 6) and waits for the greed to come close to the walls and then charge into them with their weaker masses of melle legionaires armed with little daggers or gladius.

Egyptian
]Imagine the beauty of a desert landscape with trees of Oasises and the harsh yellows and browns with the blues and greens! Or the wonderful looking egyptian designs for the keep! Then for a mount there could be a sphinx which should be slow with a medium amount of stamina but its special ability forces it to stop for a moment and decreases its stamina and summons one or two mummies that can stun and kill some greed before either being hit by them once or twice and sinking back into the earth or just doing the same after a few seconds. As for the hermit I say a hermit that can turn a tower into a pyramid that will either buff the archers on their side (it would have to be the tower that is next to the archers not just any tower on that side) with faster reload or can be payed an offering each day to summon some divine intervention at night like a beam of light from the skies or some massive fist crashing into the greed masses. Unique tools could be: Kopesh warriors that will run out and jump onto breeders doing extra damage to them but risking their tools and money in the process. Chariots that will have a unique building like the catapult (or replacing the catapult??) on each side that will be manned by a khopesh warrior, builder and 3 archers. It will ride out and the archers will shoot while the khopesh warrior slices at them.
Maybe we could see an extension of Plague Island, where the kingdom still functions even though they have been all turned into greed. Maybe another monarch has landed on the island and is trying to compete with the Greed Monarch for control of the island and the island turns into a battle between two different sides of the island. Maybe the goal could be to take the opposing monarch's crown. To obtain extra villagers, instead of recruiting like the human side, nightly raids on the opposing monarch's kingdom and the conversion of their villagers into villager greed would be a good alternative. Instead of the expansion of the kingdom, the goal of the game is to destroy the opposing kingdom by producing as much strong greed waves as possible. It does seem like an alternative to the existing kingdom game.

So cool! What if there was a unique Greed mount? Like a cross between the Breeder and the Crown Stealer whcih could spawn in 2 greed to attack the enemy kingdom?
I am think that covering the classic themes of games like settlers, so get roman, greek, agypt, norse seeting with their cultures and bioms, mounts and special units would be great. On top of that a jungle setting with maya / inka / aztec would be nice.

I agree with these themes, but I also start to ask myself if Kingdom Lore should be only limited to classic themes.
There is magic ( only limited to portals? )
There is griffins, unicorns, some kind of dragons which come from myths and legends.
Maybe humans are not the only races in this Kingdom realm.
Maybe greeds have access to other realms, if it is the case greed's realm could be used to travel between these realms.

The game still have a lot of mysterious sides in my opinion.
What about China, not really much different than Japanese but can be an interesting thing.
- Since I kind of got bored of the standart wheat farm, maybe change the looks to rice since China is the second biggest rice producing country anyway.
- The special unit can be a pyrothechnican since fireworks are extremely old and originated in China (Can either stun or maybe kill greedlings don't really mind) at the end of the season or year or after a bloodmoon he can hold a firework show for some fat stacks of cash (depending on your population) I don't even mind if he doesn't fight at all. Limit to 1 or 2.

An idea which kind off makes sense. A poacher or hunter.
Build his hut ontop of a rock/boulder in the forest 8/10 coin investment 1 archer will go and take his new profession. will track down and kill or trap deer for a 2 or 3 days then returns to your kingdom either waiting for you or give it to the banker giving you all the coins of -1 of each deer he caught/killed (upkeep/taxes/balancing what a greedy hunter.) Its not a reliable income but a invenstment since its too much effort to actually shoo all the deer to your walls without the right mount.
The hut will be destroyed if you remove the forest.
Only available after you got the banker upgrade.

Here is a joke theme. The millenial theme where the ''archers'' throw fresh memes against the haters who try to steal your majestic fedora.
I was thinking about the challenge isles. I recall the lizard mount breathing fire. One of the first things I do is scout the whole island day one. What if you couldn't? What if the forest is so thick in places, that you need to venture out and burn some trees down to progress. Or build out and let the builders slowly cut back the environment.

Should there be a harpy island? Would give us a reason to use the ballista more. Basically there's more towers in pairs. The front assaults, and the rear defends the first.

I noticed some Egypt suggestions. Should there be a gem buried at the back of the Cliffside portal? It's been a while since I played, so I'm enjoying the updates that have occurred, but noticed the inner greed sanctum is about the same. Should the background decor be the inner pyramid? Back to the greed gem, should there be a new NPC, the tomb raider? Once you pay him, he runs to the portal and waits until dark. If he gets caught before hiding in the bushes, he can be found half dead by the portal to pick up again, but he'll go in while there is a wave and drag the gem a little further out from the back. Each day he returns for more supplies and nourishment.

Just a few immediate thoughts.
a scorched earth biom and that is where you will find the dragon. if no, do a chalenge island where you get dragon instintly but the greed are stronger, pesents need a water sorce (use to limet number of pesents maby?) and wood walls will eventuly (3 nights maby) burn but stone will not). also make it so you cant get a new mount in the scorched earth.
pleas incorperate my idea becous i think pepole want a new challeng island and this is perfect.(sorry for bad spelling)

Viking Biome Unique Features

I feel that the Viking Biome should have its own unique type of greed, hermits, mounts, etc, in order to add more variety to the game.

Unique enemy: Spitters

This type of greed would have the ability to spit a purple looking substance. Since it uses a ranged attack, it stands a few meters away from the wall. Archers would only target them once all the other greed have been taken care of.

This type of greed would replace the Crown Stealer for the Viking Biome.

Unique Hermits

1. Boat Hermit: This hermit would allow players to build a small inland dock. You can only build one per land. Once the dock is built, a small boat would appear. Three signs would then appear on the dock.
•The first sign would have the image of a vagrant on it. If the player was to pay 10 pieces of gold, the boat would depart. A few days later, the boat would return with around 10 vagrants.

•The second sign would have the image of a piece of gold on it. If the player was to pay 10 pieces of gold, the boat would depart. A few days later, the boat would return with around 30 gold coins.

•The third sign would have the image of some tools (bow, hammer, scythes, etc) on it. If the player was to pay 10 pieces of gold, the boat would depart. A few days later, the boat would return with around 10 (randomly selected) tools.

This hermit would offer players a new unique way to obtain gold and recruit vagrants.

2. Bakery Hermit.

3. Ballista Hermit.

4. Horn Hermit.

5. Farm Hermit (WIP Name): This hermit would upgrade farms to have a second floor. At night, the farmers would go up to the second floor to sleep/hide. This second floor would protect them from all types of greed, including the Floaters. This would be a very valuable hermit as players would no longer have to worry about protecting farms and farmers.

Unique Mounts

1.The Dragon: The Dragon would be a replacement for The Lizard. The Dragon would be able to fly when on grasslands (very high speed) but would have to walk/jog when in the forest (slow speed). It would regain stamina by eating rabbits or deer. Since it eats the animals, no coins would be given out when the animals are killed. Its special ability is unleashing a ranged fire attack. The longer you hold down the shift key, the further the fire travels.

2.The Ice Dragon: The Ice Dragon is very similar to the regular Dragon in terms of speed and stamina. The difference is its special ability. The Ice Dragon is able to create a spiked ice wall in front of it. The ice wall would prevent any greed from getting past and would damage any greed that attacks it. It would last for about 8 seconds before it melts/collapses. The attack would drain almost all stamina from the Ice Dragon and there would be a 15 second cooldown before it could be used again.

Unique Unit: Trapper

As the name suggests, the trapper sets up traps.

During the day, the trapper will place snares around the patches of tall grass and in the forest (if it is close). Once an animal is caught, the trapper will walk up to it and kill it.

Near the end of the day the trapper will start placing large traps such as Leg-hold traps outside the walls. These traps will then kill a number of the greed.

Unique Weather: Extreme Blizzard

During Winter, there is a chance that a 2-4 day long extreme blizzard will occur. The blizzard will cause your subjects to put on heavy clothing (coats, hats, etc) in order to protect themselves from the elements. Your subjects will move slower and take longer to do tasks such as building. However, all the Greed Portals will freeze shut. This gives the player a short window of opportunity to attack the portals with no consequences. After the blizzard has passed, the portals will activate again.

Unique Location: Volcano

In order to add an extra challenge to the game, the 5th island would have a volcano on it. The volcano would erupt every 30-35 days. The side that has the volcano on it would have extremely fertile land (good for farming). When the volcano erupts, it will destroy any wooden structures such as farms, wooden walls, etc, requiring you to rebuild them afterwards. Any subjects caught in the lava flow would be killed. Any vagrant camps would also be destroyed. It will take about 5-10 days before the land recovers. Once the land recovers, farming can begin again and vagrant camps will return.

This is fantastic
Hi everyone! Just wanted to let you know that we do read everything and are so happy about the imagination and love you pure down into the feedback and ideas. The next setting is going to be a bit unexpected. We still have a lot of work, but we hope we can start moving faster during next year so you don't have to wait too long between new settings.
