We want to hear YOUR biome ideas!
Hello Monarchs!

I hope that you all have been enjoying the Winter update. We took the time to really listen to what the community was saying and tried to implement a lot of ideas that spawned in forums across the internet.

Kingdom simply wouldn't be what it is today without the community and that's something we greatly appreciate and respect! Flowery words aside, it's time to inform you of my next plan! Since the beginning of Kingdom launch I have been compiling a list of ideas that you, the community, have come up with. I thought that rather than scouring the deepest darkest pits of internet forums, I could make it much easier on myself and ask you all here, personally! Perhaps there are some of you that have had brilliant ideas but you felt like voicing them was a waste of time, constantly unsure if the developers were actually watching or not.

NOW IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE!

Let me know what settings you would like to see the Kingdom monarchs in! You can be as vague or as detailed as you'd like! Do you want to visit the Greece? The Pyramids? Is there a meta-volcano mechanic? Special mounts? Blazons? I want to hear it ALL :)

Adding in one more suggestion that's totally different from my initial suggestions.
Might be a little half baked but feel free to critic.

6) Transylvanian Alps Biome (Vampire/Dracula DLC)
6.1) Expansive mountain range, lush meadows, forests & glacial lakes with Transylvania Castle in background.
6.2) Winter is harsh but doesn't last long, frequent rain and sunshine.
6.3) Unique Monarch, you play as a Vampire Count/Countess that travels slowly during the day getting slower as your Stamina drains away but speed increases at Night!
6.4) 4 Levels of Vampire Mastery: 2nd level losing no Stamina during Night and faster speed during day; 3rd level ability to transform into a Bat at night & fly around quickly; 4th level hypnotize Vagrants into Subjects without Coins and turning them in Vampire Minions.
6.5) Sacrifice Vagrants by taking their blood to level up your Count and to maintain the level of Mastery. Juggle between your Count abilities and recruiting Archers/Builders.
6.6) Squire/Knight replaced by Vampire Lord/Baron which you can recruit after hitting level 4 (same amount restriction though).
6.7) The Lords and Barons fight better at night (taking 8 & 16 hits before dying) which means you are likely to attack portals at night. Is that possible? Hmmm.
6.8) New Statues can boost your Count and Vampire Minions (Knight & Archer Statue give better attacks and Builder Statue gives Stone Walls fortified with Wooden Stakes, Greeds take damage while attacking these walls).
6.9) New Hermit of Alchemy turns your Coins into Gems and vice versa. Be warned though, having too much of either resource will cause inflation when transmutating.

1) Boreal Taiga Biome (Norse/Viking DLC)
1.1) Snow forest, seas, fjords and Jomsborg in background.
1.2) Winter is harsher and last longer, little rain and regular snow. Snow Storm may destroy wooden towers and walls.
1.3) Unique units: Berserker, Ceorl/Huscarls to replace Pikeman, Squire/Knight respectively.
1.4) The Berserker uses an Axe and ambushes Greeds in the forest (like the Ninja). They fight better in Winter and heads back to the Bear Shrine to be replaced. They don't fish but can attack Deers & Rabbits.
1.5) Beer Hermit who works in a Brewery that crafts Beer which Berserker or Ceorl/Huscarls can consume, giving them +2 hits/health.
1.6) Ride the fearsome Fenrir into battle! Has stationary attack and can travel faster during the Winter.
1.7) Fishermen instead of Farmers who can harvest fishes and store food/excess gold in their Fishing Cottages (can withdraw gold like the Banker).
1.8) Longboat replaces normal ship and won't crash when landing on any island without Lighthouse (you will still have to capture the docks before able to board the ship).
1.9) The Longboat can carry 4 Ceorl/Huscarls, 6 Archers and 6 Builders, Dog and all Hermits.

2) Tropical Desert Biome (Egypt/Pharoah DLC)
2.1) Nile river, desert dunes, oasis and Pyramids in the background.
2.2) Summer is longer and there's no winter. Yay! But wait, Sandstorm will destroy your troops and buildings in the long Summer/Autumn days.
2.3) Unique units: Priest, Nubian/Sherden to replace Pikeman, Squire/Knight respectively.
2.4) The Priest can cast protective spells on the Nubian/Sherden or throw a fireball into the enemy (like the catapult but shorter range). They don't fish and are replenished at the Temple of Ra.
2.5) The Nubian/Sherden can have up to 6 Archers in their company.
2.6) Ride War Chariot that can run over animals or Greed for a short distance.
2.7) No Farms needed for Farmer, Farmers can only farm on Water Well spots within the walls. Nile river overflows the Water Well every 5 days for another 3 days where the Farmer cannot farm.
2.8) Overseer Hermit can construct Obelisk in place of Walls that grants speed to subjects nearby.
2.9) The Monarch/Pharoah after losing the Crown still continues with the game unless the Crownless Monarch/Pharoah is hit by Greed again.

3) Mediterranean Shrublands Biome (Greek/Hellenic DLC)
3.1) Rolling hills, seas, shrubs and Colossus of Rhodes in background.
3.2) Weather is similar to normal Biome, more frequent rain and include Wild Boar during Spring to Autumn seasons as well.
3.3) Unique units: Hoplite, Athenian/Spartan to replace Pikeman, Squire/Knight respectively.
3.4) The Hoplite works like Pikeman but doesn't fish at all. They will take 2x the amount of use before replacing their spears at the Armory.
3.5) The Athenian/Spartan can take more damage from Greed (from 5 to 7 and 11 to 15) but cost more to recruit.
3.6) Ride the Nemean Lion to battle! (If you can tame it). Charge ability like the Bear but with better stamina.
3.7) Able to build another Town Center with Hammer and Bow vendors in place of Boulder Pile/Tower slot within the Walls (nearby wall/river/tower slots will be lost). The main Town Center will always remain there, the Bankers and Squire/Knights are shared between both Town Centers.
3.8) Philosopher Hermit will attract Vagrants (and convert them into Villagers) at the Podium.
3.9) Build a Trojan Horse for the Greed. Once the Monarch enters the Cliffside Portal, the Trojan Horse will eject soldiers from within. It can carry one extra Athenian/Spartan company.

4) Alpine Steppe Biome (Inca/Inka DLC)
4.1) Lakes, mountains, shrubs and Machu Picchu in background.
4.2) Weather is dry with little rain and occassional mists, but can be hot in lower areas and yet snowing up in the mountains.
4.3) Unique units: Cuzco, Waranqa/Rantin to replace Pikeman, Squire/Knight respectively.
4.4) The Cuzco works like Pikeman but doesn't fish. When they head back to the Barracks, to re-equip the Spear, they will drop 2 Coins refunding their initial cost.
4.5) The Waranqa/Rantin can have 4 Archers and up to 2 Cuzco in their company.
4.6) Terrace Farms can be built on Boulder Pile (Tower slot) but only 1 Farmer can work there regardless of space beside it.
4.7) The Monarch/Sapa Inca has two seperate pouches, one for Gems and one for Coins but starts off sitting on a 4 men-carried litter which is slower than horse.
4.8) The Spiritual Hermit can build Altar of Inti, where a Villager can be sacrificed and the following day, daylight will last longer.
4.9) They can only build up till Tall Stone Walls but those walls have as much HP as an Iron Wall.

5) Amazon Rainforest Biome (Tupi/Amazon DLC)
5.1) Lush forests, rivers, grasslands and Teepee Camps & Huts in background.
5.2) Weather is wet with regular rain, bright sunlight and regular mists. No Winter but Lightning Storm might destroy buildings.
5.3) Unique units: Blowpiper, Fighter/Warrior to replace Pikeman, Squire/Knight respectively.
5.4) The Blowpiper recuited at Blowpipe Vendor behaves like an Archer. During the day, hunts for rabbits and deer, attacks Greed behind Walls at night.
5.5) Can recruit 6 Fighter/Warrior (3 on each side) for 2/6 Coins each but they can have only 3/6 max health buffer.
5.6) Foragers instead of Farmers who can Farm on grassland tiles as well as Trees/Jungle tiles within the forest.
5.7) Vagrant Camps spawn Vagrants quicker (1/4 day instead of 1/2 per day) after recruiting one.
5.8) Jungle tiles spawn Bunnies (or other small creatures) as well.
5.9) The Monarch starts off walking instead of any mount but new Mounts cost Coins instead of Gems.

why not a cemetery biome?

If you wanted to do something kind of whimsical, maybe a fairy biome? The monarch could be an elf king in green with a long white beard or a glittering pixie with dragonfly wings, and all the villagers are stumpy little gnomes in pointed red hats and the buildings are hobbit houses and mushrooms.

or a redwall type biome with little mice villagers and tall grass and bushes instead of trees. The backgrounds have towering mailboxes and abandoned kids toys to make you feel miniature. The buildings are made of old tin cans and string lights. The mounts are giant beetles and centipedes.

Now I want to draw both of these lol

I want this so badly now. I'd gladly pass up every other kind of biome in favor of a Redwall theme! Long live the mouse kingdom!

I love this idea, so much potential and it'd probably fit really well with this kind of game

I really think a like, a Russian 16-1700s biome could be cool!

Unit wise it could have, archers, and maybe arquebusiers!

They could upgrade to streltsy melee units with a bardiche axe, and then a boyar with like, maybe a wheelock pistol for range and a curved saber.

The winters could be much harsher, with bears and other large animals such as bears, wild horses which could be used. There could be a cannon that comes into use with the period. I don't know, I think it'd be interesting to see a more, gunpowder oriented setting.

Maybe one biome suggestion should be a crossover with another Raw Fury Game, and it should be Bad North.
Orlya 31 JUL 2019 a las 13:41
Hello. I've got a bunch of ideas, here is a part. Let me know your feeling about those ! :)

Maybe add research hermits :
For example, you pay a certain amount to research better efficiency on bows or scythes, or whatever when you are in front of a "research building" with the proper hermit on your back. This can include aswell some upgrades for your king as greater pouch / armor to tank the 1st hit (protecting this way from the crown stealer for 1 hit). The payment should be on multiple time (like the rebuilding for the boat) making the possibility to have really strong research at a very high cost.

Maybe add a portal hermit (or maybe a Strange greedling hermit ?) :
This hermit would allow you to create a portal to teleport into a specific location : for example with the ermit on your back, you can change a tower into portal, you can travel and build up the 2nd portal wich then link the both (as we can do with actual portals).

Maybe add a lion mount :
This mount can attack and one shot any wildlife (otherwise it does the equivalent of 1 arrow against greedlings) but has no AoE attack (the attack is on the closest available entity). The lion has a really fast sprint speed but low stamina. On winter the lion is slowed by a lot, making it a good mount for summer to increase the gold, bad mount to fight, and a mount that you must avoid on a specific season.

Maybe add a winter wolf, wich is the same as the lion but with the opposite seasons (stronger on winter, slower the rest of the time)

Maybe add unique items : like a chest who can hold a lot of coins but the chest would be link to the mount (so we have to make a choice) with the same mecanic than the hermit : pay one coin to pick up the chest and link it to the mount. Maybe don't allow to pick-up hermit on the "chest-chosen mount" to avoid it to be too powerful, and add a stamina faster decrease (because of the weight !). If we swap the mount to an other the coins fall from the chest.

Maybe add a continent (= infinite island wich match all types of biomes) with only small portals spawners who gets bigger and stronger further they are. Those portals would grow to the cliff portal size, and if we continue to destroy them they become stronger and will allow multiple portals summoning so multiple attacks on both sides each night resulting on higher chances to be defeated if not well prepared.

Maybe add an enchanted biome (purple or whatever) wich would have a neutral faction with creatures : if we pay them we can cross their territory, pay them enough and they become your ally, or you can attack and kill them. The greedlings would ignore them except if you are their ally. Maybe aswell add a possible ogre or stuff like that to recruit them, wich can be used as the same way of a knight in order to deal with greedlings / breeders on attacks of tougher portals. You can aswell add ennemies factions the same way wich can attack you at any time once you discovered them, making them really dangerous even with small attacks.

Harvests are traded for beach parties and towers, for big subs sending epic "Dubstep Gun Zubs and Wobs" Bear could be traded for a campus cart, and horse, for skateboards, bikes, rollerblades, you'll figure something out, maybe, those electric 2wheel buggeys that has been trendy for years now)

There could be so much more.

Notice I don't suggest Intellect Property ideas (LOTR, GoT, Conan, Redwall cos of licensing)!!!

1) Boreal Taiga Biome (Norse/Viking DLC)
1.1) Snow forest, seas, fjords and Jomsborg in background.
1.2) Winter is harsher and last longer, little rain and regular snow. Snow Storm may destroy wooden towers and walls.

5.8) Jungle tiles spawn Bunnies (or other small creatures) as well.
5.9) The Monarch starts off walking instead of any mount but all islands have the Merchant present.

Below are more fantasy based suggestions

7) Atlantean Paradise Biome (Lost City: Atlantis DLC)
7.1) Play as the Atlanteans in Paradise. 5 Islands to explore and conquer with the last being the biggest island but it holds some very dark secrets!
7.2) Same number of days per season for all islands. Beautiful grasslands and hills line the background with Atlantean Castles appearing now and then.
7.3) Unique units: Slingers, Atlantean Guard/Royal Guard to replace Archers, Squire/Knight respectively.
7.4) Guard/Royal Guard mobilize more quickly than normal Squire/Knight, together with their squad. However, Guards will NEVER patrol beyond the walls unless the Monarch pays coins to attack in the direction.
7.5) Atlanean Builders are renown for their masonry and will slightly increase Wall hit points by default and can further increase it somemore after activating the Builder Shrine.
7.6) Ride the inspiring Pegasus, if you can free it from the Gorgon's Lair! (Pay Coins to "invite" Medusa out and slay her. Pegasus emerges from the lair after that which you can pay Gems to ride it.)
7.7) Iron Mine replaced by Orichalcum Mine which occassionally gives out Coins during Winter.
7.8) The Mystic Hermit allows the building for the Orichalcum Statue that grants an additional Guard on top of the Knight Tower! You can have potentially 4 to 5 Guards per side of the Wall!
7.9) NEW GREED BOSS! Surprise Greed unit unlocked at first playthrough on Island 5! It will appear in subsquent games after Island 3 from thereforth. Why did Atlantis sank into the bottom of the ocean? Cos the Greed Kraken rekt it! Insane 1000 Health and 50 Damage per attack. Ouch! Greed Kraken always comes from the Dock side. Good luck!

8) Lush Savannah Biome (Lost City: El Dorado DLC)
8.1) Play as the Spanish Conquistadors as they search for the fabled Lost City of Gold in the South American Savannah!
8.2) Weather is humind and warm with frequent rains and no winter. Diseases will randomly strike during that period, making your Subjects drop their items and turn back into Vagrants!
8.3) Unique units: Crossbowmen, Soldier/Dragoon to replace Archer, Squire/Knight respectively.
8.4) The fearsome Soldier and later on the Dragoon uses Arquebus to fire at Greed from afar and the polearm to defend when they get near. Shots from the Arquebus never miss!
8.5) Soldiers and Dragoons never need to replace their Arquebus so they can consistently tackle Greed from afar without running back, however their arms will tire after holding the Arquebus in front for long and will rest holding it upright for awhile, becareful if they're out there alone!
8.6) The Crown rewards the Conquistadors handsomely... If you put lots of Coins at the Banker first! 10% interst up to 10 extra coins per day.
8.7) The Missionary Hermit attracts Vagrants from Camps at the Church. They will stay at the Church until they can be converted into Villager when Monarch pays for it with Coins.
8.8) Vagrant camps will stop spawning new Vagrants until those at the Church are converted into Villagers. Vagrants always go to the nearest Church so becareful where you build it.
8.9) NEW GREED BOSS! Surprise Greed unit unlocked at first playthrough on Island 5! It will appear in subsquent games after Island 3 from thereforth. Why did everyone of El Dorado went missing all of sudden? Cos the Greed Chupacabra ate all of them! It moves quickly, jumps over walls and it's aim is to kill all your Subjects! Good luck!

9) Rolling Grassland Biome (Lost City: Camelot DLC)
9.1) Play as the Knights of the Round Table in these 5 Islands! Will King Arthur triumph?
9.2) Rolling green hills and frequent rains allow grasses to grow quickly.
9.3) Unique Monarch, you play as King Arthur who starts off weak but use Coins to pay Merlin at Level 4 Castle to obtain Excalibur.
9.4) With Excalibur, King Arthur can summon Knights of the Round Table to his cause and they will stay on the Island to defend it.
9.5) Knights of the Round Table will only stay around the Castle area and defend it from Greed if they get close. They do not participate in attacking portals.
9.6) King Arthur can perform a stationary attack on Greed or animals with Excalibur regardless of any mount.
9.7) Ride the Warhorse equipped with Excalibur to gain increase stamina, shorter cooldown and longer protective spell duration (20 seconds).
9.8) The Enchantress Hermit (Morgan le Fay) who buffs Archers, Squires and Knights at her Tree of Avalon for 60 seconds!
9.9) NEW GREED BOSS! Surprise Greed unit unlocked at first playthrough on Island 5! It will appear in subsquent games after Island 3 from thereforth. Why did Camelot no longer exist? Cos the Greed Dragon burned it all down! The Greed Dragon only aim is to fly towards your Castle and destroy it! Hope you have enough of Knights of the Round Table! Good luck!

I definitely like the idea of a Mesoamerican biome. Maybe get a coyote instead of a dog. Have a feathered serpent steed or one like a quetzal bird. A winged steed like that could have the ability to dodge upward possibly allowing them to leap over a greed or portal?

I had been thinking for a bit about a Greed land biome where you have to try to build and gather alien resources deep in the lands beyond the portals. I like the idea of a converted Greed mount. Or maybe a mode where you play as the Greed against the humans.

Also, since seeing the first announcement of the Shogun biome I have wanted a mode that merges the biomes so that each island you travel too is a different biome and that way the players forces could then be a mish mash of samurai, knights etc. It would just be a matter of what units you took with you from the previous islands and what ones you could build on the current one. I see how that could be a pain to make though.

(*I just realized someone else already mentioned a Greed monarch biome before me. Whoops!)
