On day 51 at the 3rd island, there were a bunch of bushes that looked like they had blueberries on them. As I passed them, three little spotted critters were walking about, then suddenly converged and turned into a boar that just knocked all my coins and diamonds away - WTF? Also, has anybody learned the trick about the little black-robed hermit? I have! Pay a diamond to the box next to him to store the diamond, pay him a coin to get it back. And it transfers between islands!

Transferring between islands is really useful to know. I'd been stashing them, then paying out just before getting on the boat then re-stashing them.
