What if i lose gems

So i died and lose my 4 gems how can i get more of them if i opened every chest at 5 islands and i need 1 more to get upgrade?

Gems lost can never be recovered. Assuming you've opened every gem chest on all the islands, you'll never be able to get any more upgrades on this run.

But what if i will just die and drop them and they just dissapear can i just reclaim them?

you have to have visited island 4, unlocked iron, hen revisit the island that you lost the gems on and close the cave up. then ull get your gems/hermits back.

Also, most of the gem upgrades are not useful, so it's not like you are missing out. Assuming you got the 2-3 really important ones, you don't need to worry about it too much.

the baker, archer shrine and your choice of mount are the only essentials the builder shrine is also good o have. Don't get the knight shrine under any circmstances

I buyed griffin, bear, baker, hermit of tide, hermit of stable, paladins shrine, builder's shrine and i wanted to upgrade the archer's shrine but i'm gonna die with my 4 gems right now bcs of massive attack and can't do a ♥♥♥♥ about it ;/ I will just start a new game i think.

I've completed one-run reigns using no hermits; archer and builder shrines; stag and griffon.

I pick up the Stag only for a small part of island 2, because it's cheap, but ditch it soon after.

For hermits, I often pick up baker, knight and horn, but rarely use them. They are more for edge case scenarios. Basically, if I mess up.

The other upgrades are either "crutch" upgrades you don't really need, or even anti-upgrades.

Ye i know it but in previous run i didn't back to 1st island

That's wrong. If you destroy the cliff portal with the bomb, all (or part of them) gems are returned, that were stolen by the greed on this island.

If you die and your heir restarts on island 1, all stuff, that was unlocked by gems is still unlocked. You've just to return to that island and pay some money to get the hermits/mounts/monument buffs back.

correction, for right now, he's actually right that any gems stolen are lost for good, breaking the portal doesnt get them back (yet) but the devs are currently working on what your thinking
not heard anything about that fix being added yet

What if i will board the ship and then go and destroy the cave i will lose the ship and the crew? It's better to just go with bomb to cave and leave the builded boat?

you only go into the cave with bomb, the boats only for leaving the island. i was refering to what they probably thought was destroying the cave, and thats sending knights at the cliff like you would any other portal, not with bomb.

I've completed multiple runs and never ever gotten a gem back from a destroyed cave. Hermits and the dog, yes. Gems, no. I'm not ruling out that this is a bug.
