Missing Forge - Save File Editing Workaround
So, after some digging through the save files and comparing, I've figured out how to manually add a Forge to any island.

To start off, you're going to need to find the save file location of Kingdom: Two Crowns. This is located in "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\LocalLow\noio\KingdomTwoCrowns\Release". There will be a number of files corresponding to the number of save files and islands you've explored. The save file is indicated by the number following "c", and the island is the number following "l" minus 1, as the first island is 0. For example, island 4 in save slot 2 would be "island-v35-c1-l3".

Find the island that is missing the Forge and make a backup of it, then open it up in a text editor. The save file will appear at one long string of text, so I highly suggest turning on text wrapping. Putting it nicely, things can get very, very confusing to do after this point. Search for "Knight" (punctuation is important) and scroll until you find a "Knight" with the guardSide of "1" or "-1". "-1" indicates the left side, "1" indicates the right side. Find a knight guarding the side facing the cliff portal. Further down the code there should be a localPosition bit - copy the x-coordinate.

Once you get those coordinates, this is the code for the Forge. Replace the XXX in localPosition with those coordinates of the knight.
{"name":"Forge(Clone)","parentObject":{"linkedObjectID":""},"hierarchyPath":"Level/GameLayer/","prefabPath":"Prefabs/Buildings and Interactive/Forge","uniqueID":"Forge(Clone)--37906","mode":0,"createOrder":20656,"linkOrder":0,"decayHint":0,"decayResistanceDays":-1,"decayedVersionPrefabPath":"","localPosition":{"x":XXX,"y":0.0,"z":2.0},"localScale":{"x":1.0,"y":1.0,"z":1.0},"componentData2":[{"name":"WorkableBuilding","type":"WorkableBuildingData","data":"{\"currentBuildPoints\":4.0}"},{"name":"CRPCStamp","type":"CRPCSaveData","data":"{\"NetID\":1338,\"SemiStatic\":true}"}]},
If you are playing on a Shogun biome, then replace all instances of "Forge" with "Forge_bamboo".

The end of the knight string is indicated by \"invulnerable\":false}"}]}, - note the comma at the end. Paste the above code with correct coordinates just after that comma.

Here's a set of screenshots to aid in the process:

And that's it. Opening up your game should result in a Forge being placed near that location. NOTE: The game may bring up a different launcher - close out of that and relaunch the game, as it will fiddle with some of your settings if you launch like that.

I suggest subtracting 2 opr 3 from those coordinates to place the Forge behind your outermost wall. However, do note this does not take into consideration any objects already at that location, so you may end up being unable to purchase certain things unless you play around with the location. If you can't find the Forge, then ride around until you do, and edit the coordinates as you see fit.

Awesome, thanks for your work and taking the time to lay it out! Worked well enough for me.
I wish they would format the save files with new lines so it was more readable.

Thank you, but quick note from myself:

I found the forge files in my island, but it wasn't building even though i was nearly to the cave portal. I modified the files, then built another wall and it fixed it.

Please note: The classic version doesn't have "_bamboo" in it. Once i changed that I fixed it on my side.

Again, thank you very much for doing this.

Thanks for the fix, without it I would be forced to restart the campagin for the 3rd time (2 times vargants stopped spawning on island 4)

Ah, indeed it is. Changed the OP to reflect that.

And I see the thread has been kindly pinned. :)

You're not changing anything, you're only adding the bit from the code section above. Can you not find where to paste it?

You have Knights on that map, correct? I'd suggest moving back to that island and hiring a Knight or two before starting this process.

Can someone post a video with this proccess? I find this very confusing, I can't understand a thing, all it does is reset the save to nothing.

Here's a set of steps in screenshot form. It really isn't video-friendly. I'll update the main post.

If the save resets to nothing, then you've made an error somewhere (probably removing or pasting the code within another object, or made some other punctuation error) and then the game can't recognize the save. Hence why making a backup is recommended.

Tell me if this helps!

You don't open it with winrar? I did say a text editor.
